Rode Mic Question

Is the Rode Videomic Pro worth the extra $$ or would the cheaper Videomic be fine?

Any input would be greatly appreciated !

To my knowledge you are just paying for the size of the camera and the quality of the shocks, the actual audio quality isn't discernible. I could be wrong though. I'd get the original.

Personally I love the extra money I dished out for mine but I got it for 185 off of amazon. Way better than the audio technica I had before

I have the normal videomic and a 3rd party deadcat for it.

It's honestly pretty damn good minus the squeeky bands - but that's the same issue on the pro, anyways... you can get cheaper bands that don't squeek as much.

just got a deal, rodemic and deadcat for $100. Seems cool, but I haven't really got to shoot much with it yet because I was taking a class over the winter term and now I'm doing study abroad, but I brought it here and hope to use it in some edits soon

Been playing with a Videomic recently. The quality of it is mind blowing. It picks up a ton of sound, just need to get a dead cat for it.

sorry, craigslist. Guy did mostly photo, I was stoked. Look around tho, good stuff comes up from time to time
