I just started playing today and it is incredibly addicting. If you don't know what it is, it's basically soccer with cars. The game runs super smooth and controls very nicely. It also plays cross-platform so you can play games with people on a PS4 if you're on a PC and vice versa. XBox One is still awaiting a release for it sometime in the new year and Linux is TBA. They also added a hockey mode recently which is also super fun. It plays slightly different but still just as fun.
 
Wait PS4 and PC crossplay?? does that mean people on PS4 can play against people on PC? or that you can share your account on both PS4 and PC?

$13.99 US. I'm finding it more fun that most games I've ever played, even GTAV. Super worth every dollar.

Yeah people on PC can play with people who are playing on PS4. Unfortunately Steam users can't add PSN users to their matchmaking party and vice versa but I do beleive you can still manually join a server to play. It's been rumoured that when the Xbox One version is release that there won't be any crossplay due to Microsofts restrictions... Linux and OSX should be okay for that though as they'll probably go through steam.
 
damn that does look fun. too bad they don't have it for mac. on a related note i would totally play some twisted metal if they re-released some of the old ones.
 
Rocket League is the fucking tits. My roommate and I have been split-screening it since it was a free download on PSN. Not a huge fan of the new updates and all the new game types, but the OG style is fuckin dope. More fun than FIFA imo. Definitely encourages binge drinking and shouting slurs at the TV.

Being that I just got in it, is OG 3v3? Thats all ive played so far.

Yeah and 1v1 and 2v2. The new modes with the basketball and hockey puck and abilities can be confusing at first. The basketball mode is actually my favorite now. I've been playing since it came out, still not bored
 
I've never played it but Overwatch did a holiday gametype called Lucioball which was pretty much a Rocket League spinoff after watching this. I kinda want to get it now

So I was in the same boat. Lucioball was so fun. Never played Rocket League only experience was the overwatch mode. RL is way better than Lucioball.

try to use a controller if possible, keyboard controls are fucked (at least imo). Most xbox and ps controllers are fine

I have a xbox one controller for pc! i def agree this is one of those games that wouldn't be too comfortable with keyboard controls
 
God want to get into this game but don't have $20. Whatever. Maybe ill break eventually. Still looking for my copy of backyard baseball in the meantime

I used to play with mouse and keyboard and was average but getting a controller really helped. I love the rumble game mode besides the stupid spikes power up. That thing is OP af
 
Anybody in shooting star looking for a ranked doubles partner? i'm tired of playing with randoms.

Never play ranked. Whats the difference other than people being more angry when you score an own goal?

Yeah I'm assuming its just a comp match where they actually match you up with people similar to your ability level.

I've been playing this game a bunch recently, Chaos might be my favorite mode, although hoops is mad fun but super difficult.

Not much I guess. I just enjoy the reward of seeing your rank increase based on your skillfulness. Shooting star is a rank/

Thats the one with all the powerups right? That one is awsome. The spikes are great, just cruise right in for a goal lol

the spikes are just plain stupid, they are so over powered. They take no skill

steam does a sale on it every once in awhile. I think I got it for like $5 for their 4th of july sale
