Rockered park skis?

i can see why it would make sense to have rockered skis in the BC but in the park it doesnt seem very helpful. right?

ACTUALLY... i read somewhere. where rockered skis are awesome in the park... thats why pep uses the hellbents in the park.. i thought it would be no good also... but i guess not!

just wait till you try it. And someday in the next few years you should get the opportunity cause it's gonna blow up

I skied on some rockered puppies for the last month or so of the season in the park...it's mad fun for sure! Lots 0 butters and what not. Nose butters all day for sure! The tails on my skis weren't rockered nearly as much as the noses soo regular butters weren't as amazing as nose butters. It's just mad fun to pop all around, you can butter all directions kinda, you know? Basically they just make you want to butter and handplant around all the time. Kinda had a hard time landing switch on mine a little though, because they weren't really rockered just bent, so they kinda gave way a little, but factory rocker probably doesn't do that.

I wanted to know about that.

Wouldnt you kinda need to land a little backseat switch to compensate for the rocker?

is it blasphemy to even type that?

Well, uh yeah that's actually how I had to compensate on mine. But that was only because they were bent from use, not made that way, so they didn't really have anything left to support my weight leaning forward when riding switch. But that was a factor of busted skis not the rocker.

A factory rockered ski shouldn't do that though, like if you lean foward on it, it will support you, you know? Just cause it's curved upwards, the nose will be any less supportive. You'll be able to notice that you have further to lean foward until your noses are on the snow, but the flex should support you unlike my worn sticks which were noodly and just gave way.

Needless to say, the later part of my season involved an increased frequency of switch landings into faceplants.

i had hellbents all spring, and rode park a lot on them, and I decided I never want to ride another ski ever. for any kind of terrain. you may think rockered in the park wouldn't be good, but they are the shit, and yes, they can carve like a muthafucka.

no but the EP pros have what they call early rise which is pretty much the same as rockered

its only minor and gradual.

I dont think you can call it rockered. the bacons and all the prophits have always had it. dont believe me? go look!

i didnt know that the bacons had but i knew the prophet 130s did but only a little. the early rise is way more evident on the EPs

no if you land backseat you're gonna fall back. Just land normal and it's fine. If you land solid it doesn't make a difference
