Rockered Park Ski

pros: easier butters, less tip catching on swaps and stuff like that

cons: harder to ski on groomers, less area to land jumps on

I have alpha 2's

Pros: fun to butter, makes them less useless in pow.

Cons: take a while getting used to on hardpack (turn weird)

pros:super fun (buttering presses)
cons:tend to get sketchy at high speeds ans carving is a little wierd at first

on rockered skis?...

if you're doing alot of rails on a normal ski i know i definatley like to detune, i've never skied a rockered park ski but i can imagine it is not different in that area and would suggest it

I use surface one life's for park and I love them, the 3 stage rocker is the key to having them be sooo sick at everything. It still has a crazy rocker and you still have control on groomers with the flat spot and can carve with them at 50 they are still super stable.

I know just from jumping stuff with my ARG's, rocker has less pop (obviously) and requires a bit more work for a solid take off. So get ready for quite a few straight airs to get the pop and takeoff right.

Spinning is fun on em though!

that depends... on big park jumps yes they have less park, especially since you dont wanna try popping off your tails on something with alot of rocker cause it will send you pretty far backseat, you sorta just have to jump off the middle of the ski.

unless you have something like alphas or kung fujas, with just a tiny bit of rocker and normal camber underfoot.

but popping onto rails, ollieing off flat, or popping of little bumps, small park jumps, and that type of stuff they are crazy poppy, my ep's are easily the poppiest skis ive ever had when it comes to that type of stuff. they make it such an awesome surfey, floaty feeling.

K2 must think rocker is the way because I think all there freeride skis for next year but one have rocker.

Even Elan is getting into the rockered park skis... in next years line all of their twin tip skis have rocker except for the grom skis. So i would assume it's going to be sick. Stoked to get my pair.

its not that much different. I had rockers when they first came out. SUPER noodly. But fun, taught me to always land centered. I have planks now... and let me tell you, they are planks. haha. its not just a clever name. they are pretty stiff and ride like 2x4's. What I noticed most is high speed chatter. but once youre on edge that goes away pretty quickly. With the planks though... non of that. the ski hardly bends. hahah.

fun idea, but after riding four pairs of rockered skis, rockers, rockers, planks and bibbies, i think ill stick to tradional cambered skis for park and stuff. Just like it better.

i've skied the salomon 2012 for next year which is park rockered (symmetrical rocker) with camber underfoot...

they are SO fun. im defiantly grabbing a pair as soon as they drop over the summer. in fact, i needed new skis for the rest of the year (i wrecked my ar6's) and decided to give suspects a go cause they had a similar flex to the 2012's which i loved and i loved the response to the 2012's... i also wanted to test out the whole durability of salomons for myself and im not expecting a whole lot of skiing out of them, so if they break, fine. if they dont, great! i just wanted to know what i was going to have to deal with for next year with salomons, and if the durability was really THAT bad, then i'd get some halos.
