Rockered park ski question

So? He is one guy. There will be what, maybe 1 or 2 people pep in our generation?

rockered park skis will be fun on rails and for buttering, but they wash out soooo easily on jumps, i guess u gotta just land perfect.

Guys who cares what Pep says, after all his name pretty much defines freestyle skiing. With the best known ski segment and a pioneer of landing switch in pow, not to mention his ridiculous 90 to 270 in the air, his opinion does not matter.

have you tried to ski park on rockered skis? it's hard as hell. i don't know if you got the memo, but pep is about a million times better than damn near everyone on this site. he could probably mount up two saucers and have fun in the park. they're fun for dinking around, but like someone said above, they wash out like whoa when landing jumps. you have to stomp shit bolts to not wipe out. are rockered skis the future of skiing? sure, maybe. should every jimmyshooter on newschoolers go buy a pair to ski the park? absolutley not... unless they plan on grinding their progression to an abrubt hault.

im pretty sure a pair of slight rockered skis like the reno rocker is not going to halt a kids progression. just a thought.

pep would not be claiming that is is the future if only he can do it. sure hellbents in the park are probably hard as fuck, but that is not what I am getting at. just because something is easier doesn't necessarily mean it is better anyway. you could rent some snowblades and 1080s become easy. i'm not saying it is best to get something that is hard for you to control, but I think that the reno rockers with just a slight rocker in the back should change your perspective on things. i don't think the kid who can now butter off jumps and nospress rails is going to consider his progression halted.

also i never said that it would take over all park skis. but does it have a place in the future of park skiing, like Pep said, I definitely think so.

Do you even understand the physics of park skiing? Get off rockered skis cock, they aren't good for park.

arent the reno rockers supposed to be really stiff despite the fact that they are rockered, making them decent for park

ight this is getting worse then the no poles debate. some people will use them, some want more camber for pop (apparently you) we will just have to see how it plays out. lets leave it alone

That is Pep's opinion guys. Why are you fighting over it? You can't change what he says.

Does anybody besides me think that the fujis will be rockered soon?! haha

the question was answered already. the Moment Reno Rockers are the least wide rockered ski you can buy. They are also made specifically for park.

you ever tried it?

and your the one who already bought rockered skis so you shouldnt be telling people to get off rockered skis cock

im counting the days till im at good ol' iceface and hit the first pond size thing of ice and ethier die or be like oh hey rockers arnt that bad.

i think youll see more rockered park skis for sure. for a jib ski the butter ability would be great. 450 nose butter to rail.box etc.

fuck that!

im way better than pep. and my whole cliqa is better than I am. and rockered skis period are good in park, nay great I say!

this guy lost his mind. listen to your heart son!

haha this thread has gone to hell. i had hellbents, whoever the kid was that was trying to call me out above. they were great for powder, obviously, but landing in anything but deep stuff sucked. i sold em cuz i didnt have enough money for a quiver too, if i had enough cash to keep them as my pow only ski id still have them.

yea thats the truth, unless your park always has 2 feet of fresh powder its pretty retarded to ski a rockered ski on a groomed slope such as a park

Ok, back the the real question - Reno Rocker.

Now, to join the discussion that cropped up: I think rockered park skis will be for the elite. Once your bag of tricks is bigger than the Hulks balls like some of the pro's have, then rockered skis will be controllable enough for you to master. They arent something that even a moderately good freeskier can throw around with any skill in the park. However, if used by a person with enough experience to get over the wicked learning curve, it might work.

There is also the foreseeable event of skiing eventually splitting into two diciplines - rockered and regular. Learning to ski on rockers would be radically different, but starting out might not be so bad. Different ways of skiing, different balance points and different ways of handling make rockered and regular as different as a monoboard and a snowboard. Hard to say what could happen, but I'm pumped to see people start testing out all these new ideas and concepts. Go progression!

if people want to ride rockered park skis. let them, dont sit here and bash them for wanting to. everyone obviously has a diffrent opinion on them and hardly anyone has ridden them. wait until people start skiing them to jump to conclusions.

heath, "good for park" is all relatrive. I think it will be fun, giventheright ski and ski design. I will have two pairs of rockered skis this year actually. It's hard to call him a nooblet when it's unknown how they will really work... it will be a different style of skiing for sure but the ski aren't nessesarily worseor better.

the Reno rocker will probably be the skinniest.
