Rocker?

is it a big difference in the feel of the ski if it has rocker or not?

cause im thinking about geting a ski next year with rocker and my friend says I'll have to learn how to ski all over again.

we can tell you what it's like for pages and pages of threads, but you won't really get it until you try it
in pow it's like cheatingon hardpack it's like a hockey puck

Dont listen to your idiot friend. Rockered skis are much more forgiving than normal camber, except for on ice obviously. It completely changes skiing for the better.

i switched over to rockered skis this year (the hellbents) and it was really wierd for the first run, and after that they felt great, and felt normal. it really isn't that much of a difference in my opinion, but others might feel like it is. In powder they are like that dude said above, they are like cheating haha, but you'll figure them out after about one run. not a big deal. your friend might be exaggerating a little bit haha.

Rocker pretty much changed my skiing life. I didn't really have to "relearn" to ski to ride them, just made a minor adjustment for the width (pow skis instead of park). You gotta try them out man, it's about all that I can say.

it all depends on the amount of rocker and the situation underfoot....
i have a friend who skis on movement flyswatter (biggest rocker you'll ever see on a ski !!)and he still carves up on groomers. simply because the ski has regular camber underfoot and he keeps the edges underfoot very sharp....

if you are skiing mostly park then I assume you will be going with something somewhat narrower, like the s3? You will be fine and you don't need to learn how to ski again. They are just gunna be better suited for a more buttery and jibbin riding style.

Rocker is for the win. Super surfy wherever you go, fine on any conditions (providing your a pretty skilled, versatile skier) and BEAST mode in pow. Go for it. I ski Salomon Czars and love every non-icey minute on them

that's for full reverse camber/sidecut skis, most other rockered skis with some camber and sidecut feel totally fine on groomers

i prefer rockered skis for everyday skiing because you can pivot and maneuver them in tight spaces so much more easily and they float much better

i've never tried or had any interest in rockered park skis but i can tell you that for all mtn and pow it's a world of a difference
