Rocker skis

anybody ride these reverse camber skis on groomers? i was just talking to my dad about how snowbards are going that way but its mostly for pow in skiing but SIA has a few new reverse camber park skis coming out. I understand the help on powder but for park it seems a normal camber would be better for hitting jumps and rails

skiing is starting to branch out in so many different ways. the types/styles of skiing now is ridic. rider styles are getting more refined and personalized which is bringing new types of boots and different types of skis. seems like the industry is starting to "perfect" experimentation - if you will.

s ome companies are going toward rockered skis in the park. I think it probably helps with jumps, but see no other real need for it

I think most of these park skis aren't fully rockered like pow skis (or certain snowboards like lib tech), but have early rise tip/tail combined with regular camber underfoot.

its supposed to prevent catching your tips on spins and swichups, and it makes buttering really easy.

it basically means the ski rises up early like a water ski to help float in pow and stuff.

no thats how they are made haha. they are called the surface one life, aka live life two. everyone always asks if my skis are broken haha.

yeah, not catching on spins on rails is def. a strong point but at the same time a normal camber seems like it would lock on alot better to the rail as the rail could fit at the peak of the camber... and for jumps a normal camber seems like it would absorb a landing much better

yeah and judging by gordo's pic they def. have a normal underfoot... which makes me feel better for sure

sometimes its not how it looks. ive skied alot of different rockered skis and my surfaces are my favorite.

I am going to pick up some Jeronimo's if ON3P has a year end sale.
I would enjoy some One Life's but I have some Rory Silva's that fill that gap in the quiver at the moment. saw a ton of guys on Surface skis when I was out in SLC. Wish I would have looked to see what models they had.
I just remember wicked rocker on them.

it might help in switch takeoffs but landing i dont see what would stop you from washing out. i enjoy having a stable normal tail for landing also camber just makes carving that much easier

dont you hate that? at first it didnt bug me, but now it seems like 2x a day i have some old fuck ask me "what did you do that for?" or "why on earth do are they shaped like that?". yea folks, its not conventional lookin but it floats like crazy
