Rocker camber rocker vs full camber for rails?

Im debating on what skis to buy for this year. Either 161 filthy riches or 153 faction Kennedys. I mostly ski rails but also hit some small jumps. I want to get a cambered ski for the pop but am afraid it will make tricks like switch ups difficult because you have a greater chance to catch your tips on the rail. any input? k+ for any good help.

skiers were doing switchups long before the rocker days...

honestly the profile will make little to no difference based on your described riding.

Camber would help you not catch your tips because you would get more pop. But if you arent doing anything crazy then pick the ski you think looks better honestly since it doesn't make a big difference. You can't go wrong with on3p customer service and durability.

No offense, but this is terrible advice.

OP, since these skis will perform similarly in the park, think about the other aspects of your riding. Will you be skiing all mountain? Will you have to deal with some pow? Ice? Cost important?

Any ski with some rocker is going to do better all mountain than a full camber ski. There is a reason most park skis are camber, but trust me; a true camber park ski with a thin waist is a pain in the ass to ski pow and crud with.

Food for thought.

If he isn't doing anything huge then it really doesn't matter.

I honestly don't understand your logic; because he isn't stomping hundred foot backflips the type of ski he gets doesn't matter? Every ski is unique and has its own benifits and downsides. If he's skiing purely park then yes, the comparison between two park skis is minimal, but it's the shit outside the park that has the most impact usually.

Pretty much pure park ski and price is not that important.

I'm not really planning to go super big but definitely planning to get really technical on rails.

I probably wasn't clear in my response. rocker vs. camber will not make any noticeable difference for "rail performance". a bit of rocker would actually make presses easier. I would go for something soft and durable and not worry too much about profile unless you're concerned about performance outside the park.

The biggest difference between the two is that the riches butter way easier than the Kennedy. The riches are hands down the most fun I have had on a park ski. They can butter with no effort are stiff enough to be supportive enough on jumps no bigger than 50ft for a 200lbs person and are durable as fuck. I hit a pretty big rock in big sky and the bases should have been fucked up but the base on3p uses takes beatings like a champ. On3p doesn't do many warranty turn overs either.

I have been skiing full camber parks skis all this season and last season. Can't say I have caught my skis on switch ups at all. Sure on most full camber skis they have more pop, but I can ollie so much higher on a ski with rocker in the tail.

Good luck on your decision OP.
