Rock Climbing?

Anybody here into rock climbing at all? I just kinda went to an indoor climbing gym one day and tried bouldering, and it was actually hella fun. I just took a belay class so i could do top roping and stuff, but its pretty awesome, especially now that it's starting to get colder but not quite ski season.

Yea, rock climbing's sick. I like bouldering a lot and I'm planning on building a bouldering wall in my house when I have the time and money.

bouldering is alot of fun. my old high school had a bouldering wall, i would go everyday.

i need to find a place to climb in kansas city now.

yea man. i got into climbing last summer. i climbed and bouldered indoors on and off for a few months, school hit and i slowed down. met some locals and got outdoors this spring. super fun, it's a lot different than inside. the outdoor climbing season's wrapping up pretty soon, gonna start pulling some more plastic at the gym again.

if you star getting into it, consider buying a pair of your own climbing shoes (guessing you're just renting from the gym). they'll fit better and be better quality than the rentals.

I used to be huge into climbing. From ages 8-12 i would travel around the midwest and compete. I had Franklin, Metolius, Sterling rope, and a few other sponsors. I moved so i got out of it but someday ill do it again

thats so tight, i have a buddy who is currently sponsored and all he does is travel to climb. so much so that hes taken 3 years off college to do it..

I love climbing! I'm not the best, but it's still so much fun! I get out whenever I can to the local climbing gym.

haha my parents have one in their room. they spend there whole lives at the local crag pretty much. i used to climb, but havent in like 5-6 years. i think im gonna get back into it cause theres some good bouldering spots around town. but im gonna afterbang it.

a year ago i was really in to bouldering but now i think i will start doing some ice or mixed, looks super awsome!

It is a blast, no doubt. I started by taking a full class on it at my school last year, and since then I have loved it.

spent 3 weeks this summer doing it at nols

and its my favorite fucking thing besides skiing

if you can, try and get out on rock its so fucking fun

something about the gym just doesnt cut it for me

right on, i'm just looking to get some shoes and stuff now, and hopefully in the spring i'll be able to head outdoors, and just have built up a lot of finger strength and stuff in the gym for now

I got into climbing this year because of my friend. He does demos at the biggest gym in north america so its only natural that he dragged me into it. I love all climbing: inside, outside, rock, gyms... its all super fun

So much fun...I used to go all the time then I fell and broke my back and haven't done it in a couple years, still fixing the back stuff. Sucks.

get climbin outside and the addiction level goes through the roof, esepcially if you start leading or just do bouldering, but i find myself climbing at school gym all whenever i have time due to convenience and weather (its still fun as shit inside)

i was climbing like every other day this summer and fall but now that skiing is getting so close i havn't been in like 2 weeks. kinda makes me sad, i'm going to be horrible when i get back

there's an old elevator shaft that's been converted into a climbing wall in NH at a place called vertical dreams Still learning but it's mad fun

Would love to get into it more, been indoors a few times, and outdoors once. But hey, just way too many things I like to do, and not enough hours in the day to live it all.
Oh, and I dig the feel of chalk, and the smell of climbing shoes, haha.

Indoor climbing is fun, but it really gets addicting when you start outdoor lead climbing. free falling 15 above your last bolt is a huge rush.

i got really into climbing last year, my school has a small indoor gym that i hit up almost every day. not only is it really fun, its one of the best upper-body workouts you can get. fuck lifting, just climb instead

BUMP!

I got into climbing like a month and a half ago. More so bouldering but regardless it's fun. Thinking about getting some shoes for Christmas so I can stop renting.

Get shoes. Trust me, my friend, IT IS WORTH IT. I am completely obsessed with climbing. Just as much as skiing, which is saying something. Keeps you strong and fit and is almost too fun to be true.

Gonna go brave the cold temps and foot of snow to go hit up a local bouldering spot on Wednesday. Stoked! Colder weather = supreme friction.

living in boulder we have 3 gyms within i mile of each other so its hard not to climb atleast a little, but the gyms kind of got me more into slacklining than climbing

I got shoes, a chalk bag and chalk, and a 10 pass to the local indoor gym for Christmas. Stoked to say the least.

i want to climb.

i basically only have 1 functioning arm, sooo its possible, but im not sure if ill be able too.

i used to climb a bit as a little kid, my dad was super into it.

im more interested in mountaineering myself.

my bro always climbs when he's not skiing or working. when i went out to utah to visit him, he took me to a climbing gym and it was soooo much fun. i wished there were more gyms here in the east

I love it. Used to climb everyday, all day. Any climbers in Boston? I need people to climb with down here!

once you get comfortable on top rope switch to lead as soon as you can. its the one thing you can do in a gym that has any risk at all. I used to boulder a lot and in my opinion it gets old.

I love climbing. I taught climbing at camp for a summer and fell in love with it. That was years ago though and I want to get back into it again, but with my own harness and shit. Me and a few of my friends actually free climb some of the buildings in our town haha. Police don't like it too much though.

True that I was an occasional climber until i started leading, now its one of my favorite things to do.

climbing is the dope shit, to me, i find a sense of freedom hanging halfway up a rock that is only comparable to skiing some thigh deep pow. there is something addicting about the challenge.
