road gaps?

has anyone out there ever done a road gap. im thinking about doing one thats about 50 feet, and you drop about 6 feet. any tips on building?

not exactly a 'road gap' but on the ski out of the glacier on blackcomb.... we hiked up the sided of the hill and built a huge kicker off a 15 foot cliff and jumped the cattrack.... it was sweet

yea same man, theres this urban street at the bottom of a hill, then theres a 5 foot drop, sidewalk then street tha I wana gap this winter

lol, funny thing is i'll be doing a road gap tommorrow. i did one last year and my suggestion to everyone is don't go short, find a place where the jumping side is higher than the landing and try to get a long landing in like a meadow or somthin

theres mad road gaps all over the mountains in CO....we built a couple above the butte last year that was probably 45 ft long by about 12 ft of vert. pretty easy, just make sure youve got a lot of speed because short changing it sucks nuts.

^yea butte has sick road gaps, just outsie the resort there are roads winding up to homes that are pretty far apart some definet possibilities there.

ummm...just make sure your transition is nice and smooth. We did a 40+ footer and the tow in was at like 50-55mph, the jump was too kicky (the ditch was really steep) so it tossed you real werid sometimes.

wow i was just thinking of doing this ... there is a decent hill in one of my nabours back yards that ends at a hill i'm going to jump my road ..they only problem is that the landing will be flat (ouch) i think i can still manage it .

I only have two pieces of advice.

1 Dont undershoot but don't huck it and overshoot

2 Start your first hit slow like a 3 then pull out the cork 7 and bio 9

just be smart, road gaps are dangerous so make sure yo speed and yo jump is perrfect

i did one at a condo we have in north conway...it was real small but scary because there was absolutely no landing

i jumped a 3 foot path once. the jump was about 10' long and 4' high. i tried a 3 but i cased it and got laughed at.

if i get that 3 million dollar house i want, i'll have a 40' gap in my front yard.
