you can ride for hours and actually get somewhere

good thing to do when there is nothing else to do

ya its definatly worth it. and drop bars are sick too. and road biking burns something like 500-700 calories per hour (intense riding on flat land) ive heard.

its one of the best workouts you can get. plus its just straight up fun. if you find a flat road or somethin you can just cruise on, thats alot of fun. buy an mp3 and listen to that while biking. once you get goin, just tune out of the word and just peddle, dont think about anything. its nice.

I'm not personally but my parents are especially my dad. They do 100 mile treks every few times a month and do normal rides constantly. Also my ski buddy is nasty at road biking. He's on some international team that have sweet team jackets.

naw too scared man- more than one person i know has been hit roadbiking. thankfully all survived. damn cars clog up the good places to ride- and damn bikes get in the way of the cars. good thing theres no skidoos allowed on ski hills.

i roadbike alittle to get in shape fo skiing

thats true, i try to find roads that arent crowded. but finding those nice flat roads that you can just fly down is so much fun. i need to ride more, but i have sports and school right now, it takes up alot of time. iven been going duirng the nights though- that is fun too.

yea, i just got into it this year. i worked at my LBS so i got to pull a bike from the bike swap... ended up with a lemond buenos aires with 80 miles on it. theres not a whole lot thats more fun than the old road biking either. rippin downhil or spinning along on flats are sick. toppingout on a huge climb is a pretty damn good feeling too

yuck, you'll be known as the pussy from this day on if you do that. Do something manly, like cut her initials into your chest or something.

yeah, irde road on occasion to to break up the routine of mt biking and jibbing. its good shit, get the ipod cranking, and go for a few hours, and end up 20-30 miles from home. then come back. and ripping freshly paved country roads is amazing. no traffic, lots of fast turns and elevation changes, its awesome.

Dude, you'll burn much more than that, I drop about 1k calories an hour when O'm cycling in the gym at about 50km/h.

Though I do that I don't see the appeal of road biking, it just seems so dull next to hitting up a big trail at a mountain.

It might be a bit slower, but it's so much more intense.

I'd only road bike if I needed to lose weight or I had somewhere to go.

i love my road bike. Its so light i can lift it with my pinky!!

I'll drive it untill the wheels fall off, then I'll buy new wheels!

I do tons of road biking these days for general training and for triathlon training. I've got a sick custom ride that I bought of my uncle (a serious roadie) for cheap. I love the feeling of rocketing 50km/h around town with everybody staring after me. And the triathlons are mad fun too.

That's why they have to be smart about it. I mean my parents and their group of friends they ride with haven't gotten hit in all the years of riding. But there's a lot of alternative back road routes around here so it might be different where you live; in which case that sucks balls.
