Road Bike under 1000

Just getting into road biking and i was wonder what ns thought i should purchase. I was looking at the trek 1.2 as my first choice so far. Thoughts?

You get what you pay for with bikes, just like almost anything. Saying "dont pay for the brand name" is pretty dumb.. Not saying you have to pay a shit load, but dude, theres a reason for the price.

check out windsor(sp?) they make bikes for fuji if i remember correctly

the specialized Allez. It was my first road bike and i loved it! it is a great all around first bike and i highly recommend it.
Also, you could look into some used bikes on ebay maybe?

So between the specialized allez sport compact and the trek 1.2 any opinions?

the best mass produced aluminum frame on the market is a cannondale caad10, but it comes in a little above your price range, thus i'd take the cannondale caad8 6 tiagra over it- comes in just over $1000.
to be honest, i think you'd be better off spending another couple hundred and getting a caad8 5- 105. well worth the extra $200.

I dont know alot about purchasing roadbikes or the specifics of them, but if i were you just as a suggestion, i would check your local pawn shops.
