Might as well start a thread about how lame the Republicans are. Anyone got some good excerpts from the web yet. Post up your comments there will only be one thread about this convention.

OK here is the first one. There are some really good zingers in this clip if you have the patience to watch all the way through.

4min25sec from the end.........

its ok, there not going to raise your taxes, they are just going to raise the taxes on business...

so unless you buy stuff from businesses, you wont be effected.... (paraphrase)

brilliant !

i cant wait for Romney....

Half the news coverage I saw today was about Palin's family...Who cares??? I'm a staunch Obama supporter, but honestly, the sensationalized crap the media is passing off as coverage of the RNC is just absurd. I don't care if her husband participates in a dogsled race, or what her daugher's boyfriend's myspace says (they literally were reporting on that). I want to know what McCain is saying, what policies are being discussed. I want to actually hear what the Republicans have to say. I'm going to watch the Huckabee/Guiliani/Romney thing tonight, hopefully that's halfway decent.

Will you get over that guy already? He's a rogue and a lame duck, and his followers are a gross minority.

Thompson's speech was really good, which makes you wonder why he was so absolutely awful at running for president. Lieberman was extremely boring, although it was pretty amusing that he got a Republican convention to applaud Bill Clinton. Kinda makes you wonder if this whole supporting McCain thing was just a ploy to win a bet.

hahaha agreed.

I was watching fox, and they were talking about two old people who got bleach thrown on them from a bunch of democratic protesters, and they had to be hosed down by hazmat... then on cnn it says"Police Brutality towards protesters" and it shows a cop cuffing the same guy who just threw BLEACH on old people... but they didn't mention that.

Republicans didn't ruin the dem convention, so why the fuck would they ruin ours?

There were 12000 people at that rally... and the place they heald it in could only hold about that many, or less, perhaps..

I really like Ron Paul, and I think he'd be a pretty fun change to throw into the executive seat...

and this is coming from a guy whos pretty damn progressive, if you didnt already know.

Well yeah, hes pro choice, Thats not going to fly with evangelists, who are a large percentage of the GOP vote..

And your point?

He still is a hell of a lot more intelligent than Obama or McCain. Ron Paul is still in the congress too and his voice will still be heard.

Yeah, and hes IMO the best guy for the GOP job...

Unfortunately for you guys, hes a Mormon, which apparently isnt christian according to many of the crazy evangelists...

i am not a republican because i grew up rich, i am a republican because i was tired of being poor, and waiting for the government to save me....

hukkabee

wow, that was amazing, thankyou....

hahah yes. this convention is really kicking ass. also i like the promotion of "straight talk" over political correctness. as well as huckabee's story about the school desks.

RNC FTW

That's largely because he had a media blackout by the mainstream media. Wolf Blitzer and Lou Dobbs basically the the only ones that actually let him speak out.

Anyways, the RNC (and the DNC but mostly the RNC) have been pissing me off to no end. So much manipulation, lies, blaming and overstatements. So much of what they are saying is completely irrelevant.

RUDY!

yaya!yayay! RUDY!

haha he really got in some good pokes at Obama.....

"Mr Obama, next time, just call John McCain".....

Romney was a bit hawky, funny thing is he was never that way before he wanted the bid,.Huck, is plain crazy, he said change like 10 times, which makes me think that he wants Mccain to lose so he can run in 4 years. Also his story of that teacher was drawn out which made it less power. Also he he was wrong about the Rep party being founded by Linclon and the votes Biden and Palin got. Palin is on know, and looking hot hahha. Below is a funny youtube video that I was sent today....

“Here’s how I look at the choice Americans face in this election. In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change.”

Meh.. it was basically what i expected. Typical hyped scare tactics and stuff like usual.

Then again.. guess it works among the ignorant...

I hate politics in general but the only reason I like Obama more than mccain is cause at the DNC people were making speeches about how great Obama was. At the RNC it seem like they r just trying to make you vote against some one else instead of for someone. And I hate anyone who this more drilling=less oil costs

I thought it was pretty disturbing how she pretty much said that it's not important to give al queda suspects and terrorists their rights... that's wrong on so many levels.

im sorry, what DNC did you watch?

"thats not change, thats more of the same"

seriously, i think you had the 04 one tivo'ed and were watching it....

What a boring night. At least the Dems know how to put on a show and regardless of what anyone says, that's what the American public tunes into these things for. They want to hear famous politicians bash the other party, make a few light jokes, and come parading out to Bruce Springstein songs right?

Sarah Palin is hot and I think she should go back to Alaska. End of story.

That's a policy criticism. His policies are like Bush's policies. At the beginning of that speech, Biden spent a good solid minute on how he respects JM, how the guy's a hero, and how their friendship transcends politics. That was classy. I do not expect republicans to exhibit class, though, so it's ok.
