No, you see, it was an example proving that a great speaker can be a terrible president. Stop flipping the fuck out.
 
I don't support Obama either but no I did not. Unlike most politicians in history, Obama actually writes his own speeches for the most part. He gets help here and there but his speeches are mostly his own work. I do respect him for that. It shows he cares about what he talks about rather than regurgitating some thing pre-written for him by a 3rd party.
 
You know, if you were going to rest everything on just one undeveloped point of view... you could do a lot worse.

A middle class man is working one day doing some community service when he happens to get bitten by the wrong bug. A tick with lyme disease. The guy doesn't even notice the tick because the tick itself is smaller than the tip of a pencil. Over the next year he develops chronic lyme disease with all it's horrible symptoms but he doesn't know it. He's been from doctor to doctor and they all can't find out anything wrong with him. He's mis-diagnosed and told he must just be stressed out several times. After a year he figures it out and is tested positive for Lyme. He can't work anymore by now because the Lyme is so bad, every joint in his body kills him, he has extremely bad arthritis, his knees swell up, he can't think straight, can barely sleep, and he feels like he's losing his mind as the bacteria soaks into his nervous system. He discovers trying to get a Lyme Literate doctor to treat him properly for his illness is as hard as the disease itself. He finds himself in a cut-throat political arena that most people don't even know exists. Insurance companies often deny coverage to patients, and state medical boards seek out lawsuits against LLMD's because of disagreements on how to treat the illness. He applies for disability but finds himself denied because they don't recognize the disease. He didn't want this, he didn't ask to be put into this situation and have to deal with all the fucking bullshit, he just wants to get better, the expenses are overwhelming, and he quickly finds himself in a LOT of debt.

This isn't a fairy tale, this is REAL. This is a hard working man who wants his life back and he DAMN well deserves it.

A situation like this is probably incomprehensible for many, you have NO idea what kind of bullshit some people have to go through.
 
What I am getting ready to type may be inflammatory and scrutinized because it is my opinion based on what I see in this person compared to others that I have dealt with.. I am going to stereotype.

I think I know this type of woman. Women are different than men. DUH....

Women are great multi-taskers. This woman exhibits traits that have drive, determination and motivation that is un-tiring. They are organized and tenacious. The fact she is alluring makes her all that much better as a politcal player. She is outside the box and this will allow her operate outside that box which I believe will make her all that much more effective. It is sexist to dive much farther, but from real life experiences, I feel that I know what she has. BTW hahahahaha she likes sex and is good at it too! hahaha

Women like her have the uncanny ability to drive a knife into you while smiling and you will actually smile back in agreement. Men often feel thier wrath and will jump to action or they run screaming "bitch"! I deal with some powerful women. I feel I have seen her type before and it is all positive when it comes to them doing thier job.

Hiring someone into a job with out experience who exhibits the traits necessary to doing the job is not unusual. A new broom sweeps clean.

As far as the daughter is concerned. Gimme a break. Preachers daughters are the best! Dad couldn't do anything about what we wanted, why can mom? There is another stereotype there that I won't go much farther with. For you guys that know me........ hahahah one word.. Lupe!

 
Besides the fact that most of her stances and opinions genuinely scare me, that statement scares me even more.
 
you are pretty stupid if you find her speech flawless. i watched, i found her to be a forceful and direct orator, BUT she didn't address anything to do with foriegn policy, which is half the reason i watched, and she seems to have no idea. it's gaping hole in her position and she hasn't done anything about it, instead she decided to talk about being a hockey mom, call mccain a maverick(very original), and make some ridiculous statements about obama's political views, most of which were taken to extremes that were blatantly obvious were no where near what he was doing, and some of which seem completely fabricated propaganda to play to the crowd. it was almost like fox hired a motivational speaker instead of an actual politician.
 
Everyone has such beef with the fact that she talked about her personal life. CHILL. it was her first big speech to the nation. To me it seemed like she was introducing her family, her life, where she comes from. What the hell is wrong with that? NOTHING, in fact i think its a great idea because she is human and not a stuffed suit that only talks about policys. Trust me, i dont think she is going to just forget to tell you about her opinion on foreign policies, just like shes not going to just ignore questions about healthcare and taxes and all the other important issues. I think they are smart enough to relize that you cant win the election without stating your position on things.
 
i didn't criticise that it's wrong, more that she spent half her speech on it, hence only a little bit from me on that, im sorry you take the smallest point from my statement as your main issue. and i dont need to "trust you." if there was ever a time for her to state her opinions on such important issues, it was at the RNC where she had the attention of the country, and a crowd that would have supported her if she said she ate babies. now, we aren't going to hear anything from her about it for at least a couple of weeks, and it's going to sound like regurgitated opinions that she's been told to say. so you're right, she didn't forget to say it, just hasn't been told what to say yet.
 
It's better to know where a person stands on the issues than someone who is non-commital and votes present on major issues, IMO of course. Yes or No?

Can you explain to me why Obama voted 130 times as "present" instead of yay or nay, while in his State Senate.

this was more than anything a speech of introduction for herself, and an acceptance speech accepting vp nomination. in an acceptance speech the first thing you do is explain who helped get you there, in this case she thanked her family.
i cant wait to see how she changes washington, im looking forward to her kicking out a bunch of political crooks and pushing reagan republican ideals

second, contact a lawyer, (sounds like a good way to get money, after all, we have people getting RICH off of hot coffee being spilled ) sounds like this guy has a good shot at getting money.....

and what type of heath insurance does this man have? some people make bad choices, and have "skipmy" health coverage....

and how did multiple doctors miss it?

o, and community service organizations have insurance to cover these type of things (most of the time) sounds like the community service organization FAILED HIM.....

I cant help but feel she really shot herself in the foot bashing obama about being a community organizer and not having any "real responsibilities". Seems to me like it will be taken very offensively by some of the already under thanked community organizers and their associates out there.

i think we should ask if barack can handle 2 kids, i think we should ask how Biden managed to be a SINGLE father, after his first wife tragically died in a car accident, biden somehow got it all done, commuting back and forth, parenting, ect....

 
it has nothing to do with sexism, it has to do with the fact that she has a 4 month old with downs, which is totally different than biden or obama, both of whoms children are considerably older and dont have a mental illness...

regardless i think shes a horrible choice for other reasons as well. and her speach last night was a combination of nothing, lies, and religious crap that shouldnt be involved in the government

i also learned that Palins kids must make a much better prop than those darn columns at the DNC.
 
and Biden was sworn in as senator at the bed side of his two kids in critiacal condition and was a senator when his kids were at home with no one to take care of them.

Her speech was way too focused on her family. Sure, introduce your family and talk about your family values, but lets not drag it out. I'm going to watch the speech again sometime tonight if my homo-work gets done early.
 
Thanks for posting that speech. If anyone hasn't seen it yet, they should watch; it's where this whole Obama thing started.
 
I thought it all started with a illegitimate conception, and then him, in trying to find out how he fit in this world decided he wanted to leave his mark, and then him turning down 100's of $$$ per year to work voter registration in Chicago, and then going to his mentor and saying, make me a senator and then asked to make that speech.

funny you didnt see obama making nearly as many false claims about the mccain organization. in fact he for the most part talked about HIMSELF

and what about a man in Palins position? with a 4 month old downs kid? yeah i would say the same thing.

i agree that was bullshit but dont you have to have a permit for more than 25 or some odd people? so unfortunately the citation was legit. teargas and flashbangs.... not so much. But it hasnt been covered at ALL in the news

also what ever happened to the couple of people i saw INSIDE the convention
 
there were 200 people arrested at the RNC, most were peacefully protesting! i think something like 80 or mroe at the DNC? this is outragous.

I mean, they fucking arrested Amy Goodman and her crew at Democracy Now for filming the protests at the RNC.
 
really? its about time. you probably would have gotten shot if you had mentioned that though. I just hate that it hasnt been covered....
 
word, props on getting out there though. Recreate '68 had a permit in denver and all they did was march through the streets holding signs and yelling for peach but the SWAT surrounded them, barricaded them and any innocent bystanders off on 17th street (i think) and arrested many of them saying they were committing "assault with a deadly weapon". the deadly weapons were supposedly rocks being thrown. if anybody knows the 17th street area, they kow very well that there are no rocks around there.

yeah, but that's the paper for St Paul, the city where it all took place. here's one, i heard this broadcasted on hte radio live but haven't seen this video version of it yeTn he news anchor in the video is Amy Goodman (whom i mentioned above), who was arrested with her crew for filming protests at the RNC. This is her covering a story on how arrests were made on an anarchist group (a good one) and charged as "conspiracy to riot and furtherance of terrorism". fuck the police sate and fuck the loss of freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.
