haha funny story...our college radio station put together this like music exhibition sorta day thing at virgin records (in boston). RJD2 was one of the guests. The rest of the arists were relatively unknown and most of them were like solo/singer/songwriters (argh). So we got there about 45 mins late to the start of the event, it was like 3-4 hours long so we figured RJD2 would definately be last because he was the biggest name. So my roomate and I get there and go to talk to our friend who was also organizing the event and he was talking to some guy but we sorta went in front of him because we were soooo stoked to see RJD2 (and this was a free thing mind you). So were like "YOOO man when the fuck is RJD2 coming on I cant wait for that shit!?". Our buddy just sorta laughs at us. Smiles. Informs us that we just actually missed his set (he spun FIRST because he had a show later that night and had to soundcheck earlier--fucking weaksauce!). But he advised us that we should turn around and say hi to the guy who we had interrupted previously when we barged in because he had just spun a sick set. Sure enough. Turn around, none other than RJ himself! Haha. We sure felt like dicks for getting in his way, but he gave us each a free cd because it was a worthy reason. Made me smile for the next week or so.
