Risks with Accutane

it says no drinking because accutane affects the liver. I'm not sure what THC would to. Ask your doctor.

i've done two rounds of accutaine. the first i was drinking 35 beers a week (two nights a week)...which some might consider heavy drinking. i guess thats really bad for your liver. i'm alive still. smoking should be fine, however if you ask your doctor they're going to say any kind of smoking is harmful.

the thing is, you'd never know i've taken it if you saw me. it really is an incredible drug. the first time after i was done i went for a year and a half before i had to go back on, i may have to do a third round if it comes back again.

yeah, I have pretty good skin now. I get about one tiny pimple every two months and thats it. The year of dryness and not getting any chicks was well worth it.

i was on that shit for like 2-3 months 2 years ago almost, its torture on your lips man, but yeah once u get clear- make sure u stay clear. apparently some ways to keep good skin is to go into a sauna alot

i dont have bad acne but i take minocycline and it keeps my skin pretty clear. and when i use to smoke...i took it and it was fine.

JUST DON'T GET PREGNANT, i'm not sure if you've seen the warnings on the boxes, but apparently they say you shouldn't get pregnant while you take it.

(For those that have never seen it, the box has about 450 warnings on it)

Drinking and smoking don't do anything harmful while your on it. The only thing is your probably going to have to take blood tests once a month to see if accutane harms your liver.... and if you've been drinking your liver will show negative effects. So to not scare your doctor you may have to admit to drinking so the problems aren't blamed on the accutane. For some reason my doctor just assumed I was drinking.

im only on week 2, but my knees, hips nad lower back r killing me. like all the time theyre hurt. the good this is its mostly after sports n stuff, so skiings still pretty good, but when i get home nad the next day its hurts a lot. anyone else get the joint stuff? and it went away for u when u finished accutane right?

my bros a heavy drinker and was on that stuff. his hair is now permanently curly (it was straight before) and his platelette count dropped low enough that the doctors thought he was dying of something... guess not. this was two years ago and hes still got the curly hair, but his blood work is back to normal. i wouldnt screw with that stuff.

my neighbor was on it, and i guess for one in about 15000 it gives you severe arthritis (temporary though) its rare enough that they dont warn about it but its damn near debilitating and keeps getting worse till you get off that shit. aka you should probably get off that shit.

didnt some senator's son commit suicide on that shit?

ive never had skin problems, but i would never wish acne on my worst enemies

i'm just starting on it. i wouldn't consider myself a crater-face by any means, but it's the greasy areas (forhead, chin) that i, like most, am very prone to zits.. and i figured, i'm fuckin 20 years old now, enough of this shit. accutane will hopefully clear me up 100%

and yeah, it can potentially raise cholesterol, liver enzymes, and in severe cases 'can cause an elevated pressure in the head resulting in temporary loss of night vision or, in extreme cases, death.' pretty scary fact i read there, but the doc said that's, for the most part, not true at all since routine bloodwork allows them to track just what exactly it's doing to you. and it definately dries out the face/lips, so moisturisers and lip chap is essential.

the best part about it is that once you're off it, you shouldnt get another break out ever again, I was on it for seven months and made sure i had zero acne before i went off. I didnt want a second cycle

dude i got drunk and high and drunk/high while on accutane and im fine. just i had weird chest pains the next few days after. youll be fine if you take it in moderation. dont go drinking vodka or absynthe just stick with brew for now

it only causes birth defects with women. the isotretinion (active ingrediant) stays in the blood causing external skin and oil glads to dry up (why your face and lips get so dry). since hte mother shares blood with the fetus it severely defects the development of limps and organs. your jizz, however, is unaffected.

i had that stuff, drys your skin out. and suposedly gets you depressed cause the doctor like had to read me a book about it because of liability. gay stuff. and i had to go in like every month for a blood test, that sucked.

but it worked!

I drank heavily whilst on ro-accutane (same stuff) and i was fine. The doctor told me that as i was already a heavy drinker before, my tolerance was higher than usual so although i shouldnt be getting wasted every night, i could drink moderatley, where as most people should hardly drink at all. Just make sure you don't over do it, and if start getting ill, see a doctor.

the worst side effect i know is that it fucks with your joints. Dries them out too somehow. AS in, you wont be abhle to jump. rails maybe, but you lose all the cushioning in your knees, so you cant really ski all that much.

its good shit, i took it for awhile and never got a pimple again. i was getting regular blood tests to make sure my liver was ok so i just wouldnt drink for 3 days before the blood tests.
