RIP Sir Edmund Hillary

more like a team effort, neither could climb it by themselves. another summit team from their party had attempted before but had to pull out.

hes had a pretty good innings like 87 or something been down in antartica recently, nepal earlier last year. what a good guy

Ernest Shackleton was a beast and a man that I aspire to be like in the fact that he had impeccable leadership qualities...but Sir Edmund Hillary slayed terrain that nobody had ever seen before that was possibly as dangerous as the Antarctic. He accomplished it, too.

I respect both equally, but seeing as that I would never want to cross the arctic but I would love to climb Mt. Everest, I can relate to Sir Edmund Hillary a little more.

He stated that getting an honourary Nepalese citizenship was one of the high points of his life, he loved the country and really made a difference there.
