RIP Shane McConkey

So sad. He was one of the best we've ever known. Thanks for skiing harder and throwing yourself off bigger cliffs than anyone thought possible. And thank you for persisting with rocker skis.

it's really sad, but ski-base is probably the most dangerous sport you can do, i get nervous every time i see someone doing that.

+ vibes to his friends and family, the freesking community will be hit hard by his passing.
 
I'll never forget seeing his movie There's Something About McConkey and it got me so stoked to ski. He's the reason I quit racing to start doing my own thing on the hill. If you guys don't own that movie or have even seen it, you need to get yourself a copy. I feel so bad for his Wife and little daughter that doesn't get to grow up to experience how cool of a guy Shane is.

i think i wouldnt have gotten in to this much of skiing if it wasnt for the oakley video on google video i watched that 100 times and mcconkey was such a big influence.

It was really nice to see everyone repping Shane McConkey shirts and stickers today, I saw 3 or 4 people with his name somewhere on their person, good job guys.
