RIP Ryan Hawks 11/13/85 - 2/28/11

Hawks was an AMAZING guy and skier. He always put a smile on your face. I can't believe he's gone. Truly an inspirational person and a kick ass-skier. Such a loss to the ski world. Ryan, we'll miss you so much. Shred those clouds for us

Ryan spent a lot of time at Grand Targhee and Teton Valley...coached with the local ski team off and on. He wasn't around much but he left a big impression on the kids. Sad day here in the Valley. Any updates on the injury or accident would be appreciated.

RIP. I just met his dad saturday (we are both coaches) when we were all talking in the locker room and he was telling another coach about his son and how him and some other guys were working to get more interest in the backcountry/freestyle type of skiing. Then he was saying how he was going to try to watch his son's run on tv/online if he could time it right because he knew his start number. so sad.

really really sad when someone like this passes away especially doing something he loved so much. vibes to his family and green mountain freeride. RIP

so. damn. good. Very sorry to hear about his passing, especially the circumstances. He was fully in control on that drop, just sent it a little too deep. Lets all keep unknown snow conditions in mind, regardless of our ability. RIP, Ryan

I can't believe I hadn't heard about this and how no one else seems to have either. His part in Prime Cut was amazing. RIP Ryan Hawks
