RIP Public Enemy

I love mine for east coast. They are actually durable so you can make it through one season without breaking. They could also see everything and not just park

I never actually met anyone who didn't like their PEs except for smaller people who thought it was too much ski or too stiff. But that is what it was designed for, skiing everything. Icy chunder filled steeps, to halfpipe, to big kickers, to mach 5 turns down groomers, to bumps, a true all-mountain twin with a wood core. I still have two pair mounted up and still see a bunch of people rocking older ones:) Testament to the durability.

If you lived closer, I'd be happy to have a few drinks and discuss my disdain for the way PE's ski, and I'm a big, strong skier.

i never skiied them for more than one run on a wisco hill, but i always liked the graphics on the originals a lot. you've got to be a bit sad to see them go, no?

Yeah I demo'd Karmas and liked them waaaaaayyy way better than the PEs. I think this year volkl divided the Karmas into 2 skis: The Wall for park and teh bridge for all Mountain. PEs still aren't too bad though, although in their 3rd season of use they are really going downhill- multiple edge cracks and teh die cut top sheet peels off more evry day, plus the bases are basically 1 big scratch.

see i think thats a general ski industry problem right now..i dont think thats affecting just k2..i think every company is losing money any more..it seems like long ago skiing was on the rise..now its kind of on the downfall..atleast in the east coast it is..it may be because of the past couple season's weather. i know 3 years ago my local mountain shop sold 24 of 28 pairs of twins...this year they only have one model of rossi, one model of k2 and one model of liberty..all closeout skis because they arent selling

Don't judge the state of the ski industry based upon sales at one shop in your area. Too much generalizing.

I don't think the industry's sales are declining, if anything they are increasing..

I think the falling PE sales were a combination of better deals on other skis (particularly online), increased competition due to new companies coming into the market, and existing companies increasing their product mix..
