RIP Erhard Loretan

I don't know if anybody has ever heard about him on here but I wanted to share my sadness and ask you to join me praying for his friends & family.

Erhard was a true pionner. He's done more than ten + 8'000 m alpin style and loved to share his experiences and passsion with others.

His loss is almost unbelievable. He was the best, the Candide of mountaineering.

RIP Erhard, you will be missed.

Definitely a dangerous time of the year for avy danger with the warming temps. Be careful folks. Sorry for your loss. RIP Erdhard.

Everybody always dies. In mountaineering, it happens less than it used to, just the internet blasts us with news of deaths.

Anyway, I saw this news on a local climbing forum. Pretty sad stuff. It reminds of Goran Kropp who died on a relatively easy and renowned 5.10 here in Washington, after doing shit like K2, Muztagh Tower, and Everest solo via bike to and from Sweden (incredibly badass). Sometimes it is the easier stuff (although grunhorn isn't just a walk in the park) that can do us in, not just the Annapurna's of the world.
