Rip 'em Off?

So this happened today. They rip out about 6 inches on either side. Not far enough down to effect carving. Should I cut them off or just try to make another duct tape cap to hold them in? Never really had an edge problem like this.

Definitely epoxy them back in and use rivets at the tip to secure it in. If you don't have any of that/don't want to, a shop should do it for around $10.
