I know there is already a thread on this, but Blake deserves more. He was really sick in both park and bc with little or no recognition from anybody outside aspen and he didnt care, he just loved skiing. He was the guy that when i was learning how to do a 3 off a little jump would be laying out d spin tails off the bottom jump at buttermilk, i looked up to him so much. he was way ahead of his time and was one of the chillest guys i have ever hung out with and im pissed i hadnt gotten the chance to ride with him this year yet... RIP Blake, you were the shit.

Damn, that's so sad...

He was such a cool kid, I'm sad I didnt have the chance to spend more time with him.

Such a tragic lost, the patrollers did a CRAZY good job.

RIP buddy, the small amount of tim we got to spend together were fun.

I am also sorry to hear this. I did not know him, but he sounds like he was a great guy. My regards go to his friends and family

I don't get it.. I have seen several threads like this before. I mean paying your respects is cool. but why not tell the story of what ever happened. I searched blake d nothing comes up. it's hard to pay respects to someone we can't relate to......

from what I gathered in the death at aspen thread, he ducked a rope and got caught in an avy.

didnt know him, but rip man.

its how i would want to go out though, doing the thing i love.

RIP dude.

patrol was firing canons all day at snowmass yesterday. then hiking up at the top of high alpine, we heard a sound that was definately not a canon. :-(

Here's the story as i heard it. He was skiing with some guys from High Society Skis. Each one chose a different line an spread out. Blake drooped a cliff, think it was 20ft, backslapped and the snow split beneath him (crack was later measured to be 4ft deep) he got sucked under and died of Asphyxiation. and as for him being out of bounds aspen ski co is full of shit and is just trying to cover there own asses.

Blake was a great kid and a super talented skier. Lucky to have known him, even if I didn't get to know him all that well. He always had a smile on his face...

RIP
