Ring the Alarm

The AK segment was burly.

That being said, I cringed the entire time I watched that. Face after face, completely propagating outward and setting off these huge slides.. A shot of one or two is reasonable, but I seriously think there were only 1-2 shots of someone riding a line that didn't fucking slide in that segment. In terms of setting a good example, he couldn't have done a worse job.

When kids watch this movie, seeing that will definitely rub off upon their decision making process, and with backcountry skiing growing in popularity more than ever before, I'm disappointed to see someone as widely renowned as Tanner including a segment along those lines. Yes, we get it, you're the Ski Boss and can outrun a slide, but the average skier would probably not be able to react the same way to an occurrence like that. In terms of avalanche terrain, assessing snow conditions is so important.. And not only that, they just keep flying up and riding shit on the same aspect.

People look up to you Tanner. But in the regards of avalanche safety, you need to set a better example.

Lol. You want thall to be a role model. Lemme guess, you also rag on pros for not always wearing a helmet... amiright?

If people are dumb enough to think getting slid is cool, they deserve to be taken out of the gene pool anyways.

this shit was awesome! for me it had it all, perfect mix of ground/gopro/drone shots and i loved all the reggae music! sick skiing too

gonna watch it again now that i just pumped myself up about it

lol clearly you do not know lampard.

Can we talk about THall skiing switch in powder? He had some Nimbus level switch stuff. If there is one thing that skiing needs it's more switch in powder.

This is why I don't do this internet forum bullshit anymore.

I'm impartial to helmets and probably as far from a children's role model as you could get, but when it comes to avy safety, know or fuckin' don't go. That's one thing I will not budge upon, especially living in an environment like Montana and seeing what kind of a "safe" halo can arise around backcountry skiing with segments like this floating around. You hear about 5-6 avy related deaths a year hear, and 3 - 4 of them are usually from a younger demographic; exactly the kinda demographic that would have the most interest in movies like this.

So movies shouldn't show the dangers of BC skiing?

Can't have it both ways.

How bout you enjoy the skiing and stop always looking for the sjw moral high ground.

Displaying the dangers of BC skiing =/= Displaying stupid decision making.

Man, it must have been a cool feeling for you to have been there on those heli trips and observed their decision making process. Please, tell me more about the specific conditions, conversations, and their level of acceptable risk...

Oh. Wait. You're just SJW armchair quarterbacking from afar.

How bout you just enjoy the skiing and stop clambering to claim the sjw moral high ground.

I thought it was a great movie. I don't know if I've been this stoked for a ski season since EDIAS came out, that's coming from a guy who wont be on snow till February to recover from knee surgery. Nevertheless I've watched it at least once a day since it came out.

My thanks go to Tanner and everyone involved!

It was far better then tight loose

Better than the last three or four TGR movies that I have seen. Didn't have to listen to Angel Collinson scream for 2/3 of the movie. Thank God.

What are you even talking about? Also, the lone angel skied before blowing her knee on the run-out was as burly and skied as well as ANY other line in any other movie this year outside of right loose and ring the alarm. Chick fucking slays.

Come on now. it was really good, but don't be a fucikng retard.

Production value and diverse locations/skiers makes tight loose better. But in terms of pure slayage and vibe, I think ring the alarm is just as good if not better.

Charlie quit.. He is such a g.. His family owned 2 gold mines and the biggest house in western Canada yet he chose to become a pro ski bum and to live in his truck in whistler for 8 years on and off of course ..I still don't understand how he used to land some of the massive switch landings he did
