Rides up to Timberline

Hey Oregon people, I'm a college student living in Portland right now and am looking to get up on weekends to ski at Timberline. I have a Fusion pass and am looking to find people to carpool up with and down, and I am willing to pitch for gas or bring food or whatever. If you wanna help a homie get his laps in this season I would much appreciate it. Also if there are any programs that provide rides up Timberline from Portland could I get some help finding them.

Not from ptown so no help on the ride but there are busses for sure. If nothing else you can take tri met to the end and then transfer to the my hood express. There are a couple different mt hood shuttles from ptown too

Find a way to get to sandy and you can take the mt hood express to skibowl and timberline for like $2 each way

Don't bitch about waking up at 6 on the weekends to ski. thats what we all do.

Speak for yourself mang. I usually sleep in and then pull into my spot in the front row no problem. They need to get more busses IMO. if it were more convenient I'd always ride up and ski down and that'd take people off the road.

I agree. They do need more busses/public transportation. On those weekend days all the parking lots fill up at meadows and timberline. Last time i was at meadows the main lot filled up at 8:30. The way things are going i have to get up at 6 or before that to even get a spot in December, January and February. Meadows just said they are adding 250 new parking spaces. and building a new lodge. at least they are trying to "fix" it

More parking spaces isn't going to fix the problem. The road already can't handle all the traffic at peak times.

They need some infrastructure to help the buses too like bus only passing lanes or something so that people have some incentive to ride. Best would be a high speed train from PDX to Bend with a stop in Govy. If the Feds did it the cost would be a drop in the bucket of the whole Fed budget. Sounds like a pie in the sky idea but it would really solve the problem and I don't know anyone that wouldn't want to ride it if they got to the hill way faster or if they could go to Bachelor in the same time it takes to get to hood now.

I'm serious about sleeping in. Totally possible to show up at noon almost any day even peak season and still score a spot up front. Morning cluster F is getting so lame on peak days it's usually best to try to avoid it all together or just go to skibowl IMO.

I think more parking helps Meadows problem, but you're right it doesn't help everyone else's problem. You gotta take 26 no matter where you're going.

Also yeah you can definitely just ignore lot patrol. There are ALWAYS spots open up front of HRM if you roll through around 10-12, don't listen to them when they make you park in nordic lol.
