Riders Republic

holy shit that game sucks even compared to steep which I don't play anymore. I made it through 20 mins of the riders republic beta before quitting and deleting

The game looks cool for non-hardcore skiers and the biking is fun but the trick selection for skiing is ass. Here goes the rant:

You can’t properly single cork 3, 5, 7 or 9 (you can but the game doesn’t like it). You can’t double or triple cork either, only single rotations (unless you can unlock that with better gear).

The other axis are stupid as well. Bios are the same as corks, you can only do singles.

You can double and triple misty and rodeo (rodeos are almost under flips) but only in divisions of 540. This means that you can only rodeo 5, dub 10 and trip 16.

Also because it’s in divisions of 540 you can only do realistic switch doubles and triples (because forward dub 10s are usually cork 630 to cork 450 not underflip to underflip).

I also think the grab system is boring because for example you can only grab Japan with your left hand and critical with your right. You also can’t tweak grabs like you could in steep. Overall this could be fixed and having the option to bind different grabs would be nice.

If any of this is wrong please correct me, I would be happy if these problems weren’t a reality.

gets better as you figure out the controls but honestly sucks overall compared to steep, shredsauce will always be better either way tho. i managed to leak a bunch of skis if anyone cares

Homie switch to manual landing

The game has already unlocked me two black crow skis but not sego big horns????? Literally unplayable, my mountain only feels like a regular ground

How is the map? Doesn't this one have mammoth, yosemite, other sick places?

Steep had the whole way-too-arcadey controls but the mtn ranges you could explore were DOPE

You're expecting to unlock the endgame op gear in a few hours playtime of the beta? I think you're vastly undervaluing the biaxial carbon stringers effect on your skiing my guy. Clearly you're not Freeride World Tour Champion Isaac Freeland who would never make such a mistake. Or any mistakes for that matter to win the Freeride World Tour to become a Freeride World Tour Champion riding the Sego Big Horns where the entire mountain has been his playground.

I'm still going to buy riders when it comes out, but I just hate how the skiing looks. Idk why tf the turning animation has to look so bad, the inside hand drops so far. Makes him look like a fuckin type II skier that never discovered counter while turning. However I think the switch skiing looks a bit better than steep
