to quote from wikipedia:

"In May 2007[2] the song's campy music video became the basis of an Internet phenomenon known as "rickrolling". It took its name from a 4chan meme known as "duckrolling", a prank in which someone would post a blind quote to a post allegedly relevant to a discussion that upon viewing would prove to be a non sequiter - specifically, an image of a duck on wheels. Similarly, in a rickroll a poster provides a link they claim is relevant to the topic at hand which actually takes any one who clicks it to the Rick Astley video. The practice eventually became widespread enough to attract some coverage in the mainstream media."

i think i got it bad once

williams used to live in my town before he moved to okemo, and he usually tells me when he puts new edits up cause we are friends. well he IMed me saying yo i got a new edit check it out i havent even put it on newschoolers yet and sent me a link to a video on NIG's website. i clicked and he had hosted the video on the site so he could get people, including me

im aware of that

this thread was to share past stories of such humiliation...

and if people get banned for this then i guess i fit that criteria

well, you probably won't because people kind of know what they are getting into with it, but awhile ago this place went crazy with it.

I just wanted to say the oldies station said "We promise not to Rickroll you!"

I heard this yesterday and was slightly surprised/amused

ill continue the stories. At my school this year, a few of my fellow grads decided to rick roll the entire school, one guy wrote a little html code on notepad and put it in the school server (still dont know how he got acess to the school server) and set it so all the computers would open a rick roll website (www.internetisseriousbusiness.com i believe) as soon as someone logged into the school server. This was followed up by a school-wide announcement at the end of the daily morning announcements " by the way seycove(my school) you've just been rick rolled. /end story
