Hey guys, Does anyone know of any cliff/ bridge jumping spots in RI or near mass? All I know about is a 20-30ft roof spot on the boarder between Warren and Barrington, and i've herd that there are some spots in newport. Anyone have any info?

yea there is a few spots in newport, nothing too big but some cool fun spots. Some you can walk/drive to others you need a boat. 12 o'clock high is always a good time right off ocean drive. Anywhere from 10-30ft. there is one spot in tiverton, ri that has a diving board off a cliff. PM me if you want details

Bonnet Shores Beach, real fun cliff out in the water, go at high tide otherwise u can hit bottom. 30 yards out into the water, drive to the end of the neighborhood overlooking the beach. you cant miss it, its called bonnet point.

if youre looking to potentially kill yourself, go to jamestown, fort weatherall. Im not giving you any directions to the cliff, several people have died there. Its the scariest fucking thing ive ever done. Basically its a 45 ft cliff with a rocky death for like 15-20 feet extending out towards the water. dont jump there, I barely missed the rocks, its fucking scary.

where do you live in RI?

its not in Tiverton, but I recommend that you not look for the diving board bluff. thanks for not including that other town's name. it happens to be my town and there are plenty of "skukes" or summer people there already. Yes, I am a bit of a jaded local. PM me if you're really that desperate to find it. Maybe 30' at low tide.

I'm in barrington and I've heard about fort weatherall, My mom has jumped there, i think im guna do it this summer

Ive been to some really fun quarry spots right near/in westerly RI theres some swimming involve to get to the cliffs but once your there its easy in and out. Sorry i dont know more about the location.

go to warrens point beach club on a week day cus they have a security guard on weekends. 3 different boards and a couple of other 30'+ spots. PM me if u want dirrections

^really? after my post specifically asked you not to mention a spot like WPBC. yeah, I'm probably acting the jaded local right now, but goddamit, have some respect. oh, and where are you from again? oh right, Masshole.
mods, for the last decent scrap of decency, could you please delete the post above mine, mine too, I just don't like LC being talked about on the internet. COnsider your once-isolated ski stash getting discussed by people who spend a month or two in your town, and then they send an open invitation to anyone to join in the crowded fun. Am I bitter? likely, but please think what you would do in my place.
lets shift the thread to spots on the west side of RI. kthanksbye

surfers end, second beach walk out a little on the cliffs, tons of spots ranging from like 10- maybe 25 at the right time, really fun and easy, do it all the time

I got called a skuke while longboarding in Newport, haha. I've also lived in rhode Island for 20 years, go figure.

hey dude i need to hit up that cliff jumping at second beach that you were talking about. is it easy to get to?

Hey Guys,

This is my first post, thought id help out! I live in westfield, but recently Moved to RI so Ive been looking for new jumps too and found a ton! Noticed I was getting sick of kids BS-ing heights and finding it damn near impossible to find directions to these. All of these locations ive been to since about 2003.

Im shooting a documentary about cliff jumping in New England: Including Mass, RI, CT, VT and NH. So far these are the prime locations. ALL SPOTS have been measured by a friend and myself, and will be videotaped being measured:

MASSACHUSETTS:

Granville Gorge:

Location: Granville Mass

Height(s) :38ft

Parking : tough on the road, could walk the "nature trail" entrance. About a 20 min walk.

Temp: Cold as hell, its a natural spring

Water Depth: ~25ft

*Becket Quarry: (Best in Mass)

Location: Becket Mass, Quarry Road In Becket

Heights: 20ft, 40ft, 50ft, 62ft, and *80ft

Parking: Easy, there is a nature walk parking lot off of quarry rd. Looks like an oval turn around with a historic Beckett Billboard. About a 5-10 min walk up the trail. The quarry will be to the right.

Temp: Warmest around late August & September(nearly Bath Water). It doesnt have any rivers going into it. Water is still.

Water Depth: 100ft+

Notes: Probably in my opinion one of the best cliff jumping locations. Has a wide range of cliff jumping heights for people just starting. And, if you are really feeling it, go for the 80. Its on the far back part of the trail on the top ledge.

Devils Hole:

Location: Russell off rt 20 just pass the turnpike bridge.

Heights:10ft 20ft and 25ft (85ft)

Parking:Park by the old tractor trailer trucks or on the street before it. If you park by the bridge, you will get a hefty parking ticket of $200.

Temp:Piss Warm

Water Depth:~45ft

Notes: Good place to chill and enjoy alot of waterfalls on the river. There are usually alot of kids there on their first stop of all the rt 20 cliff jumps. I put 85ft because there is an old bridge some people jump. **SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS JUMP< NOT ADVISABLE!!!! its an 85ft jump into a 10ft wide hole jumping out. A seriously slim chance for a sucessful jump, and the rapids make it difficult to see the open hole. Ive been there 20+ times. Only seen one drunken kid jump it. hes lucky to be alive. Tore his forearm to hell.

Noble View:

Location: Russell Mass

Heights: 20ft, 35ft, 40ft

Parking: There is nature trail visitor parking. This one is harder to get to and more of a hidden gem in Mass. Its about a 15 min walk in the woods following the hiking trail to get to it.

Temp: colder water, spring fed but stagnant at the base.

Water Depth:~25ft

Notes: One of my favorite locations because not alot of people go there. A good place to become an intermediate cliff jumper and warm up to larger jumps.
http://nobleviewoutdoorcenter.org/nobleviewscenes.html _ the picture entitled "Big Pitcher Waterfall" is the location.

Russell Rock:

Location: Directly off rt 20 in russell

Heights:15ft, 35ft, 65ft

Parking: In an old rest stop to the right, aprox: 2 miles up the road from Devils Hole

Temp: Warm

Water Depth:~35-40ft

Notes: Used to be a really cool location. Too many people go there to get hammered and leave their beer cans everywhere. The rock is cool, you get a bit of a running start to jump. Sketchy gainers. The 65ft jump is if you climb the tree on the rock. There are ropes to scale the rock to get back out.

Arms Brook:

Location: Westfield Mass, behind St Marys cemetary

Heights: 10ft 25ft 48ft

Parking:The powdercoating factory across from the cemetary. Then cross the street and walk on the gravel path by the 2 concrete slabs.

Temp: Disgusting Warm

Water Depth:from 10ft to 40ft

Notes: This pond has a tree hanging over the pond for 10ft 25 and 48ft jumps. The tree is getting old, so be sure to only have 1-2 people on it at a time. If you walk down to the right, there is a small rope swing. To the left is a nice beach to relax and swim around in. **STAY AWAY FROM THE DOCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THEPOND!!! IT IS AN OVERFLOW DRAIN!!!! Some kid swam out to it, and turned the handle and opened the drain. A few days later, another kid swam out to it and got sucked into it and drowned. Keep by the rope swing and tree!

The Powerlines:

Location: Westfield, off rt 20

Heights: N/A

Parking: Easy parking in the dirt

Temp: Warm

Water Depth:~15ft

Notes: A really cool rope swing with a long plank drop off.

More locations in mass I havent been to:

Westfield River Rope Swing

The Icebox

Otis Lake Cliff

Bash Bish Falls (really good jumps but Park Patrols Jumpers. Prob a good 55ft jump. Only seen videos)

Any others in mass, please add!

Rhode Island:

The Quarry in Bradford:

Location: Quarry Road in Bradford

Heights: 20ft, 50ft

Parking: Drive to the end of the road. When you get to the gate, park ither to the left or right of it. It says no tresspassing, but the people who live there are used to people parking and swimming. The sign is so if anyone gets hurt, they cant sue. Walk past the gate. The quarry is to the left.

Temp : Perfect Warm

Water Depth:80ft+

Notes: Two great jumps in RI. The big 50ft jump is kind of sketchy bc someone needs to pull some of the little brush out so you dont have to jump out so far. Its more of a mental game. Really, all you need is one good step. The 20 has a really long run in so you can practice flips and tricks. Super warm perfect water.

Jamestown Cliff Jump:

Drove by it. Its an epic 65ft cliff jump INTO the ocean. Will fill details when I jump it.

I hope this helps everyone. If you know any locations 60ft+ let me know for the documentary! im trying to find a 100fter.

If anyone wants exact driving directions to these locations, EMAIL me at kbpaintballer123@aim.com

And please remember, dont leave your crap at these locations. The bigger mess you leave, the better chance these locations will become closed to the public. Dont ruin it for the other Jumpers!

CHEERS GUYS!

you sir, have a future on NS. thank you very much.

and isnt the jamestown one fort breatherall (sp?) or something?

i have heard its shit dangerous.

in little compton there is a cliff thats 30 ft or more with a diving board and a small one about 10 ft with one as well. its a private beach though and there are life guards but you can flip on the lower ones.

i just went to little compton the other day and did some mistys off the lower diving board. it was so fun.

thanks bro. any details on getting there? i'm in Bristol but LIttle compton is only like 20 min away and want to hit it up

Its been forever since Ive posted all those locations, and I got a ton of footy and a few people who msged me, sorry if I havent replied in forever, but has anyone got any new spots in RI besides the ones listed? Someone msged me about an 85 footer bridge in boston.

BTW, if anyone on here has been crawling around Russell MA, I found this really old 1800's hiking trail that has original stone arc bridges. Theres probably about 9 or 10 of them, took me all day hiking to find them all. They ranged from 30 to nearly 80 ft, but the water seemed shallow. I swam out to one jump and tried to touch bottom. Anyone know the name of that place? You get to the center of the commons in Russell and take a right over the covered bridge, follow the road for about a half mile, and park on the pull off to the left.

Also, Heard rumors of some cliff jumping spot called the icebox around there as well? Any info would be great, i've pretty much exhausted my jumping locations!

Keep jumpin!

Sorry for the dub post, but has anyone ever been to the quarry in Milford MA? I've never been but a friend of mine has been there twice and she says its pretty fun.

The trail is called Keystone Arches in Chester/Becket. I don't know anybody who jumps there and I'm local so be careful. If you hike out you can put a tube in the water at any of the bridges and come out at the base of the trail.

I used to live up stream from The Icebox growing up. It is freezing year round because the creek is all mountain spring water and it stays under the canopy all the way to The Westfield River. The jump isn't very high and there is a small whole to jump in with a rock in the middle but you can slide down the waterfall and it is totally private. It is private property and the owner doesn't let people go anymore because everybody was trashing it. There is nowhere to park without him knowing you're down there either. He's cool if you know him. Try going to Linda's River Café in Huntington and asking around. His wife owns the place.

This will be my first summer living in RI if anyone wants to show me around some cliffs and shit. Can provide booze and weed if you're into that kind of thing

Has anyone jumped from Crook Point Drawbridge in Providence on the Seakonk river?? I want to give it a go, but I don't know of anyone who has done it - just want to make sure its safe/deep enough

For everyone still looking to go cliff jumping, you should totally check out the spot in Little Compton, RI. The cliff is a bluff, owned by the Warren Point Beach Club. Do not try to get in through the parking lot of this private beach club, but instead take Round Pond Rd in order to get to Tappen's Beach. As long as you walk down this road, or have someone drop you off at the beach, you're good. Once you get onto Tappen's Beach, walk very nonchalantly over to the WPBC property. Once you are there you can climb right up to the cliffs and jump. Nobody is gonna question you as long as you follow these instructions.

Oh, and the-big-lepowski made me want to tell all of you about this awesome spot. So yeah, you are acting like a totally jaded local and you should just go away. You don't own Little Compton, so stop acting like you do. So this spot should be shared with anybody who wants to experience it. Just do as I say, and you could get one of the best cliffs in RI to jump off of. Enjoy!
