RFA- Steele's Segment

I dunno if this has been posted yet, but fuck it..... I just got RFA yesterday, and have been zoning out and studying it. This is definitely one of the best films to date. Steeles segment in this movie is so awesome. In my opinion, it brings editing in ski movies to a whole new level. He incorporates all his artwork, along with his dope style, and like his personal interview all wrapped up into one. When he was walking through that city and it shows the BC scene on the screen, thats so awesome. But, what makes it so much radder is the fact that his friend Joel was the one who editied all of it, who past away. I dunno, I just thought it was wicked creative and well done. Crighton's and Belangers parts are def dope to... an all day pipe sesh to yourself... shibbbbbby

Yeah, and that segment must have taken soooo much time to put together. I just fuck around and edit shit here and there and you really appreciate shit like steeles segment when you realize how much work goes into it

the editing wasnt even that great. the only reason youre giving it so much props is because joel died. he wounldnt have wanted it this way, guys. no sir.

I think it said in Freeskier that he had a brain tumor and died of complications in surgery. The article was really good, seemed like he was the coolest guy ever.

Joel died of complications after brain surgery. He was such a talented guy. He had so much going for him. He decided to follow his dreams and film right out of highschool. He made huge impact on skiing comunity. His memory will always live on.

HOW WAS LAROSES PART? DID HE SHARE IT WITH ANY1? WHY DOESNT MY CAPSLOCK WANNA COME OFF? wHO IS THAT GUY IN DOORWAY, AND WHY IS HE JERKIN OFF?

steeles segment is incredible, this is the one time i can say skiing has done something new and different than snowboarding (unless of course i missed something). this is the first time skiing has been original, joel was downright amazing...hopefully his style will be recognized as peeps will pick up where he left off...editing is an art and too many people treat it is a means to entertain rather than a manifestation of what's inside...i was really getting sick of bullshit like scene changes on the beat and a flash here and there....that is not editing...parts of rfa crossed the boundary between art and pop...its comparable to literature...bitches write lame ass romance novels just to entertain and make a quick buck, any lonely bored hag could write up some fantasy story in their spare time, but it takes true genious to be able to produce something of meaning and value...just knowing the effort put into a segment like that makes me appreciate it so much more than anything i have seen in this industry...not to mention belan's segment was straight up breath taking.

Joel did sound like a pretty amazing guy....... Steele's segmet was a little hard to understand at first but after you wach it over a couple of times you start too understand what Steele is talking about. Phil belanger also has an amazing segment, this year those two segments really pushed the envelope of not just ski films, but editing in general. Props too poorboyz and Joel where ever he is.

if you thought that the skiing backdrop on the city window was cool, just check out the Plehouse video effects in Belangers segment with the video on the wall ride. The guy trying to climb over makes it look amazing.

I liked the editing in rfa, it was different and new which was nice, cuz shit starts to get old after awhile.
