I just got the Freeskier Photo Annual, and in it, there is an add for costom built skis, made to personal specs. And a self Mounting Binding system for a Snowboard looking soft boot that is said to have the stability of a ski boot. This is incredibly sick, does ne1 have ne info on it?

The company developed the first releasable binding for snowboards and skiboards, and their system looks like it should provide the lateral stability skiers need while keeping the comfort of snowboard boots.

I was at their web site the other day (cann't remember the URL off the bad), but they hadn't put any information up on their skis yet. Just google them, pull the phone number, and give them a call - they are really nice when it comes to answering questions.

sounds sweet. ski boots are so uncomfortable. but you get used to them. i think a soft boot would be wierd.

exactly^^^, i think a softboot would fuck me up. the boot would just flex too much and it would be hard as hell to carve.

Well Rossignol makes there soft 1 pro which is there free style park boot. I hear there really comfy and they work great too.

 
yeah you dont get shinbang unless you land backseat, which happens every once in a while. and i really have a deep hatred for the rossi soft boots. not a big fan of feelin the buckles dig into my feet when i flex them

Soft boot's are ridiculously gay. That's really all i have to say. If soft boots were good pro's would be using them, check it out no pro's do use them. Point proved.

Soft boots would suck. Just find a boot that fits you well. Trust me, you can't ski if the boot has too much flex. And they don't suck to walk in either. Jebus.

 
i like their website. it's obvious they dont take themselves too seriously; it's more about having fun. look at the bottom of the clothing section of the store. they sell $1200 'high performance after boarding chick outerwear.' it's a bra and underwear. the sizes are: tiny, small, kinda big and fat chick.

ski companies seem way too uptight. it's almost as if they have forgotten why they make skis: so that people can just have fun

Seriously though, as ski designs progress, the need for fore-aft stiffness in ski boots is going to diminish. That's the thought behind all of the current 'soft' boots - that lateral flex is what is most important in edging a ski.

that's totally wrong, lateral flex would PREVENT you from carving, and if you had either no fore-aft stiffness or completely rigid flex, carving would also be impossible. Stick to telemarking.

actually i think he means the amount of flex, as in a ski that is solid would be uncarvable- and with a softerflex its god but still laterally gravy

ill never get those. i tighten my boots as much as i can then after the first run i gotta tighten um. its so fucking impossible to ski good when ur boots are loose. so how is a soft boot gonna give you enought stiffness to control urself?

Why the fuck should we resrot to soft boots? INstead we should just focus on making a sick liner that has gel and shit at problem areas and like really soft cushioninnes..

i doubt ther gonna sell alot of boots. maybe to some freshies.
