Jesus what tyrol said said is fucked but I guess makes sense at firsr, people paid for preorder, money went to producing the skis, sold to someone else for more (?) That's fucked. I know my homie got some revision pow skis off the house or something like that, probably someone in this threads.

Sent him a linkedin friend request asking if he had any advice on starting off in the ski industry.

We'll see how this plays out.
 
I mean, the website is still up. Someone is paying for that website to stay live.

The site is still saying there are skis in stock and gives you the option to still buy skis (whether the transaction would go through or not I don't know, obviously I'm not going to take that risk).

AND, I'm assuming this is from 2017, or even 2016, but there's a notice saying 'We are releasing our new ski lineup on August 1st!'

Surely authorities would have caught onto this by now and ordered the website to be taken down, at the end of the day it's classed as a scam if they're still allowing people to buy skis? Thoughts?

Do it, I was tempted to do the same thing but I don't know enough about the situation to not sound like a jackass in doing so. His employers should at least know that he's defrauded hundreds of kids

Also the site won't let you order stuff. When you go to check out it says your session expired. Their certificate expired almost a year ago as well.

If anyone has an account there (or rich enough to create an account and look), see what the details of their business plan and proposed return on investment was (if any...Might have just been shares versus a loan). Depending on their policy, the investors might have room to go after Revision since they did scam clients. Usually if a startup fails, depending on the contract, you might be shit out of luck...but if it fails because of some shady actions, that may be reason enough to sue? No a lawyer or an accredited investor so don't know but it seems reasonable.

Thats what I initially thought. Ive seen one other picture of him and it looked like him. Also theres not many Bill Wanrooys, espicially in Kalamazoo.

Revision was only 3 people, but mostly Bill.

Unfortunately I don't think Bill ever fully come forward, as only a few people actually know the entire story.

^also ended up buying a pair, durability was actually fine until I hit a loose nail on a box and ripped some edge out. I still intend to ride them for a good chunk of next season.

Hoooly crap. I vaguely remember the revision shitshow but for the most part I ignored it because I didn't think it was that big of a deal. Looking back... this is fucked up. Also a 30 page thread with 3k likes is nuts.

Did anyone from revision get sent to the slammer? Or do they still have all their money and their freedom?

I was sooo fucking excited when preorder came out August 1st, 2016. Only a few days went by before I placed my order for a new model called Blink. "A jib ski for a powder day" i think was the description and huge selling point for me. I had only ever had as wide as 90 underfoot. I was enthusiastic and observed my order August 3rd, 2016. I told all my friends about the sick skis i was waiting for. Then powder day after powder day passed me by. Until mid march when I compilied unanswered emails and this thread into a document and sent it to my bank. I was fortunate to get my money back. A few months later my back called saying that Revision desputed the claim. I had to inform them that i was indeed using my J Skis x Newschoolers Whipits on powder days because I still didn't have my skis. They went to the BBB with my information.

Reflecting back, im glad it happened. I was a Blink away from going full new wave. Instead, I used the money to buy skis at a silent auction that benefited environmental efforts in Summit County. They are Fatypus skis with Broken Compass Brewery graphics. I skied them just the other day and will likely ski them for along long time. Just goes to sjow its best to buy local with a product of quality that is in your hand and not promised in the future on the internet.

Fuck you Revision and thank you Revision.

Honestly I think it's more sad that out of the hundreds (thousands?) of people that got ripped off no one did a thing, they all just took it in the ass.
