Revision Messed Up

I think that NS should back all of the members who have gotten scammed and hit Revision up for some answers. Write an article about this or something. I understand that Revision has partnered with NS on a lot of things, but at the end of the day fuck that company and help out your members NS.

That'd be a juicy article

Doubt revision would be down to answer questions tho

Someone has gotta have the answers though, even if the owners/managers won't talk. Athletes maybe? Someone has gotta know someone.

Part of me thinks this was an intentional moneygrab since day 1 of the "pre-sale" or whatever the fuck it was. The problems with their Chinese factory could have been straight bullshit

I agree, but if anyone has the contacts and leverage to pry for information on behalf of all you guys that got scammed, it would be the folks behind this site.

We're 17 pages in and this hasn't even made a common facebook post from NS yet

Enough kids clearly got duped and lost money over it. Bust from day 1 of this thread. Answers are waaaaaaay overdue from the company. Even pro athletes get on NS and talk about their shit, it's the very LEAST that revision could do for the niche ski community that wanted to support em.

Working on it. If we're going to tell the story at all, we have to do it absolutely right, so it will take some time.

Can't take as much time as these skis are taking to get here.

But forreal this needs to happen

Bonus points if you make it into a radical radish

Amidst all of this unbelievable bullshit that we've had to deal with, I want to give a shoutout to those that have come up clutch. I got in contact with Scott from Level 9 Sports and want to sing his praise a bit because he helped those of us in a rut, provided great customer service, and killed the game on helping those who got absolutely fucked. I ordered some skis last Monday and received them last Friday. Great skis, great condition, and at my house in a week (can you imagine?!). Can't speak highly enough of those at Level 9 and any others that have made an effort to help us out. Best of luck to all of you, hopefully the banks can work some magic for most, if not all, of you.

Looking forward to the write up NS has in the works for this entire shit sandwich situation.

step up mr. bishop, i think this deeserves a legit ns article

i agree but seeing as NS isn't an investigative journalism group, i dont blame them for shying away from that

what i think would be appropriate and more realistic is if bishop (or whoever the contact point is) should privately say to revision, "dude you need to address the customers and ill publish it if you want"

then take it from there. im not saying revision deserves any gentlemanly treatment at this point but if i were bishop id be careful about putting people on blast. someone hears that story from a second- or third-hand source and they might think NS isn't the best place to spend advertising dollars

Juicy.

Who knew you'd see investigative journalism on NS?

If Revision doesn't offer up anything, I think it's time some pro's call out those involved because if they don't, this could happen again.

To be honest, there is obviously more to the story that we as the public don't know.

Pros and stuff always call people/companies out for shit like this. Any thread in the past, examples, on3p thread recently, Gus K photoshop thread, pros and companies jump in all the time.

There is obviously something that they know, and don't want to get involved with / expose revision for whatever reason.

Well of course this shouldn't be the first option, it should be the nuclear one.

People want communication, transparency, and frankly answers. So far emails haven't worked, phone calls have been ignored/line is now disconnected (?), and only a few pairs of skis have been shipped.

If an investigative piece comes up empty, what options are left?

Calling people out shouldn't be the first resort, but sometimes it needs to happen to get results.

Revision has had more than enough time to address these issues but have avoided them completely. It's time to apply some pressure.

I'd be livid if I was a 16 year old kid who ordered a new pair of skis over the summer and never received them and my constant attempts to get clarification on issues were rebuffed.

That's my 2 cents.

I recently talked to a business partner of Bill's (not affiliated with Revision) and he says they've completely blown not only him off but some athletes as well. Not sure if this is true for everyone who was remotely involved, but two people who know him very well have had basically 0 contact. Very fucked

I'm assuming that most of the athlete's they sponsor are still under contract and even though this is clearly a bs company it would be considered a 'breach of contract' if they spoke bad about it. Assuming they dont want risk losing any money so they're staying silent for now

I'm looking to talk to a couple people who ordered Revision skis in last year's preorder, whether you've received them, are still waiting, or got a refund.

PM me if you'd like to chat.

You're assuming they're paying the athletes....

If they're paying athletes and not consumers they have a bigger issue on hand.

I'm would think that guys like Sandy and Noah have who are a little longer tenured and bigger names in the industry would get some sort of financial compensation on their contracts and lesser known guys like Sam Zahner are more "on-flow" like skateboarding.

If they weren't paying them anyways then I really have no idea why they wouldnt chime-in on this thread.

Oh certainly the top athletes get paid but it almost certainly isn't one lump sum at the beginning of the year. Like most businesses, it's probably bi-weekly or monthly.

If they're paying these athletes and not giving their customers their purchased goods, I can't imagine that is legal.

But I'm armchair-QBing this so I could be way off.

Yeah thats exactly what I was thinking, I'm just assuming they're still being paid due to their silence. I'm just really curious their opinions on the matter.

Zahner slays harder than both of those kids....

I finally bit the bullet and contacted my bank around two weeks ago. All i had to do was express that i had not yet received my goods that I ordered over 8 months ago (i.e. send them the invoice, emails showing attempts to follow up on my goods etc). I've just received my refund this morning (which im super stoked about - never thought i was going to see it).

For those looking to get a refund - Definitely contact your bank ASAP! I''m from Australia and plastered all over my banks website was 'you cant get your money back if the purchase was over 90 days ago'. This is true for most circumstances, HOWEVER in the instance that goods have not been received after purchase there is no maximum time-limit (within reason).

After following this thread since 2016, i just cannot help but think there will be one day where revision just shuts everything down and declares bankruptcy. For those whose season has just finished definitely try and get your money back, what are the chances revision is going to stick around in the offseason while they are getting 0 orders? (just my 2c)

Crazy to witness the presumable death of a company step by step on here.

It's a bummer for the riders who just moved over to Revision like Spencer & Noah.

Holy shit this is unreal, just now checked out this thread for some reason. This is some bullshit, glad everyones getting refunds etc, those poor riders though. Im sure they've got plenty to say about the subject, really pisses me off one of our local legends, Sandy, got fucked over too.

I would honestly be more livid if an investigative piece did manage to get an official response out of Revision. If you're willing to talk to the press but not your rightfully pissed off customers,

Did this thread dip into another dimension? A bunch of replies disappeared. I wonder what will show up first, this reply, or anyone's skis.

Went to my bank a little less than two weeks ago to get the issue resolved. Got my money back in less than 15 days. Still no response from revision. If you haven't talked to your bank yet id highly recommend it. Believe it or not banks are usually on your side for this kind of thing.

Considering it's exetemly likely that the riders were riding skis free or at discount, the consumers are still enevitably the ones that got tooled hard.

There's kids who tossed around their own $300-500 on skis from saving summer money or help from parents - who likely can't justify that $$ for their kids in the first place - to have a no show on product for MONTHS.

Riders will get picked up again and get free shit.

This is a bigger problem.

honestly I would say everyone got dicked around equally hard. Rider's didn't get skis this season, riders were fully out of contact with the owners. I can't even imagine how hard it would be to put out a segment of any sorts when you aren't getting hooked up, then imagine trying to get picked up by another company (especially for the smaller guys) when they just went a whole season with the inability to produce content or travel. Everyone's situation is shitty, but don't discredit how fucked the athletes got.

Touché. You bring a valid point to the conversation. Inevitably this situation hinders the company, for the profit and substance of the company only. Of course it's going to suck for the riders, but this whole thread is user/consumer based to the point that a pre-sale and the reship due to "manufacture malfunction" for the skis led to the entire end of the company to the means of absolutely no contact or functional communication. This is why the customers took a hit beyond reasonable means. The athletes continually have an opportunity to release content whether it's on revisions skis or not.

Just deleted it too. Id say if you don't have your skis now, you're not going to get them

Jesus Christ how disrespectful can you get. There's people without skis still & you're on a "well deserved vacation".

By now I'd say that they deserve to be spoken about from the athletes or people in the industry that know more than we do. Its shameful that they could post pictures like that and be counter claiming the poor kids that want there money back. This would be a whole different story if they kept their communication the whole time but the lack of it and the picture of paradise to me seems like its a start of a new chapter for them.
