The pundits already jumped on it... i swear tucker carlson could learn a thing or two from an 8th grader on how to do a proper summary.

i mean he had a good message -- but if the news actually reported on his message and not what he 'said' (make the distinguishment between the two) they wouldn't be able to say that it was offensive.

i totally agree with you....these guys really aren't saying things that aren't true, they're just saying it in controversial ways and its biting them in the ass.

hi,

please watch the videos before you comment. a speech given at a NAACP dinner wasn't about voting for Obama, it was about race and the differences that everyone deals with today.

- much appreciated

signed on behalf of intellectuals everywhere.

i dont need to watch it i read about what he said. i know he didnt talk about obama, plus i could really give a fuck what he says about race. my step dad is black i grew up with half a family of black people i know the whole race thing first hand i dont need some fuckin psycho ass dude to tell me about it.

so why do you have to come here and start spewing bullshit like you've got bull balls on your chin? you probably have something to contribute that plenty of others on this site couldn't

and since when have secondhand sources become more reliable than first hand sources?

What you SHOULD do is watch the speech, and then compare what you heard to what you read. then when we start talking you've got plenty of quality things to say. Instead you call Wright a 'fuckin psycho ass dude' i haven’t heard the things he's said in the past within their context. If you think the pundits have any bit of merit in making Wright look like a crazy person just watch THIS video and see if he exemplifies anything remotely close to being 'fuckin psycho ass'

ok im getting really sick of people defending total whackos for the sole sake of being rebellious.

OK, for the record, I truly believe what the NAACP does is for the good of the nation; I also believe that Reverend Wright's fundamental underlying message (that blacks deserve more equality) is a completely well founded one.

Also for the record, before anymore hippies start bashing Fox news, let me point out the first broadcast station to criticize and publicly tie Wright with Obama for the sake of mudslinging was ABC a rather left-wing station.

But now lets just shed the wings and no matter what you believe in you can't ignore the fact that Reverend Wright's existence on this earth has been an negative impact on all of us. He is a dangerous brainwashing influence on the black youth.

This guy believes the US government created HIV and AIDs in order to commit a genocide against black people. After 9/11, he said "God bless America?... NO! God DAMN America!" Yes some of his statements were taken out of context, but very few! Only a few misquotes have been made and even then, it doesn't absolve his original message. This guy believes America was founded upon genocide. Either he doesn't know the meaning of the word genocide or doesn't know how America was founded. He is also the superlative hypocrite. He advocates for peace at the same time he advocates for violence.

Even Obama himself has renounced this guy. So stop defending him if you're a liberal. Wright is not a liberal- he's an anti-american. He's been anti-American for the past 20 years despite any presidency.

This guy grew up as a nice, solid member of society. somewhere along the line, he fell off the path.

Lets look at the facts about what he believes.

The AIDs conspiracy isn't Wrights concotion, it's from Edward Hooper a bbc correspondant.

Hooper places blame on Dr. Hilary Koprowski, a virologist working for Philadelphia's Wistar Research Institute, who allegedly used hastily concocted chimpanzee kidney culture medium from a Stanleyville research laboratory to create millions of doses of oral polio vaccine for a mass vaccination program in the Belgian colony of the Belgian Congo. The experimental vaccine was administered to millions of natives in the Belgian Congo without their informed consent. The research was partially funded by the U.S. Government.

How bad is it to bring the topic of pharmasudical companies exploiting the african continent to give first world countries the next new drug? Wright's commentary on the subject shouldn't be our main concern.

God Damn America-- i don't really want to go there -- bad timing yes, was what he said really that far off? -- no.

America's foundation on genocide -- are you not aware of the middle passage? For obvious reasons the records of the human losses are not super accurate, but fuck, without being very exact we're still talking about millions of slaves who died in order for America to have free labor, which without would have been impossible for our country to exist the way it does today.

But NONE of this really pertains to what his message was the other night which was

we've all got differences, but just becaues someone else is different don't mean that they are inferior.
