i had an idea, spark of the moment, on a possible idea for revenues. this is fresh hatched idea, about 3 minutes . if ns hosted an online catalogue for companies/stores the could possibly get some sort of commision. if you set up a deal with say some core company or even a larger one, where you had almost a getboards type part to newschoolers, where kids could buy ski's off of ns. any purchases would give ns commison for the sale. it wouldent be NS having to buy ski's or have them in stock etc. but NS would just be the vendor, or the online face to where kids would be able to browse through and pick out what they wanted, and when they went to buy it, the NS store would submit the info etc. to the actual store to get shipped out.

ok...so why would d-structure or getboards (which sucks balls) give money to NS??? everyone already knows about the shops so it would just cause these stores to lose money.

because not everyone can go to d-structure shop. so if they did the store through ns they might be able to save money through not having to have an online store, let ns handle that with their servers or what not. i really wasnt sure how it'd work out, it would probably have to be a store/stores that didn't do much sales online in the first place and just used NS as an online catalaouge. think about it like this; a massachusests shop competitive edge wants to exspand sales, so it contracts NS to sell their ski's online, NS gets a commision from them for every ski sold. they could even do it by region so if you are from Mass area, you buy skis from a shop in mass, if you are from Colorado you buy skis from a shop in colorado... just an idea (note getboards would be a competitor not a partner)

usually its because the store wants to advertise itself on another site. this place is huge, so it wouldnt be a bad idea.

It would be cool for NS to have like an EBAY section. you know how ebay makes money from auctions... well, it'd be neat if NS could. the Equipment forum would be about questions and stuff, and the Auction Place is where you actually list and sell stuff. you get feedback and everything.. just like ebay. it would be rad.

It's a pretty damn good idea. Plus the marketing pitch NS could give is pretty decent. I'm sure Getboards.com doesnt get 100,000 hits a day or w/e the constant flow is. Plus if people knew NS got commishioned on it all, they'd be more open to dropping some dough on a "core" site/company rather than a sports store. hey u can disagree im just offering my cents

yeah its a good idea but no shop wants to give profits away if they can sell from their online store and not be paying out commission to people.

i think this is a better idea. Just get all the clearance skis from all the companies at low prices and just resell em here for a profit. The companies usually sell their clearance skis on ebay so just take em and put em here.
