Revelstoke Mountain

I recently have been to a new amauter ski resort in revolstoke forget the name but the powder was great and everyday u had about 4 inches of new pow. no terrain park but The mountains supposed to be expanding to one of the biggest in B.C. Any1 heard of it?

I think its just called Revelstoke mountain and yeah I've heard its pretty sick. I think this is their first year in operation. I heard that supposedly its gonna have the most vertical in N.A. when its done as well as like 500 000 acres with heli and cat skiing owned by the resort. It's gets about the same amount as snow as Kicking Horse and Big White and stuff probaly. Revelstoke was always known to be great for sledding so you think its about time they build a resort.

no!

but i want to check it out, i think it would be fun.

their plans for expansion are wild too... its going to be a huge mountain

but they need a major airport close to them or all the people that have to fly into van from other countries will just go to whistler

its been open for a while as a smaller mountain but yeah this year was the first year that it was opened bigger such great snow and everything you need to check it out its amazing. as for an airport they have a small one i i beleave there expanding it im not sure about it tho

Failllll. in no way does kicking horse get as much snow as Revelstoke. Kicking Horse is probly one of the worst mountains in the west for snow. and big white doesnt get as much either usually. There was a small resort there before also, and cat skiing for years where they are putting the resort now.

totally true. revi gets way more snow than both of those. the terrain is sick, the snow is deep. opening day there was off the fucking hook even with the retarded crowds. a deep mid week day there would be epic with noone poaching the lines. so much potential.

Per their sites

Kicking Horse- Base:150cm

YTD:430cm

Revelstoke-Base:191cm

YTD:458cm

Not a huge difference between them in snowfall. Revelstoke gets more but nothing to brag about too bad. I just compared them because aren't they really close to each other?

fairly close. kicking horse is about 2 hours away. the problem with kick is there snow is very inconsistant and it probly wont get above 200cm base, where as revelstoke, will soon exceed it and go way past.

Im moving there permanently in 1 year, gonna buy myself a little piece of land like 20minutes from revy, live in a trailer for a few years, grow some weed and sled every day im not on the hill! Hopefully I can afford something with the settlement im getting from the bar that fucked up my hand.

By the way, Revy gets 2 time as much snow as Whistler and 20% more than any Colorado&Utah resorts. So that means it must get like 4x the snow Kicking Horse gets. Its a micro-climate over there, the clouds get stuck in the mountains. The downside is that its one of the deadliest place to ride in the world. The slope angles are very avalanche prone, its where Craig Kelly and Justin Trudeau died I think!

omg i was second in line opening day, and it was totally worth the three hour drive and three hour wait, best skiing of my life the BC kicks ass

How are the current conditions, I'm thinking about heading up there on Wednesday but I want to hear from someone local how good the conditions are first.
