Revelstoke is finally making a park

So last spring for a little bit Revelstoke built a couple jumps under the stoke chair. This year they have a plan to make the whole run an 11 acre park. Judging from how good the run is, in the next couple years the park could progress into something pretty good! Any thoughts? In my opinion I think its great that they are building one, for the days that are packed and tracked out, it will be nice to do a couple park laps.

id be stoked ;)

My favorite setups are when a mtn puts their park on one of the groomers that you take back to the lift after skiing the gnarly stuff. It makes for a super fun lap instead of a super fun 1/2 lap and then straightline back to the lift haha

Never been but always stoked to see a mountain building a park/improving their existing park.

Jumps look clean and a nice fun size.

Hopefully it goes well for them and it sticks around.

Shred it!

inb4 grouchie locals complain...

All for it, you do get some down days at revy, plus I like the point caligrown made about end of lap park laps.

They're going hard for their first season. 17 rails and boxes and a guy who knows a thing or two about building a park. Can't wait!

nice ;)

I'm stoked because I love hitting some park jumps on the way back to the lift rather than straight lining out dodging gapers. On the other hand I'll need to bring 3 pairs of skis now.

Haha true true, every year in revy it seems like I come way too close to hitting a gaper who is sitting under a roller.

The guy running it knows his stuff too, worked for years on the Big White park and shreds pretty damn hard too. Did a park coaching course with him a few years back, top lad.

I've never been anywhere with as many blind spot rollers as revelstoke. they're super blind too

hmmm if they can just get a few more nice restaurants that i could work at i might just have to give up whistler for revy. not that the park was keeping me from going really, but it would be a nice bonus.

actually i still haven't been there, do they have any high end restaurants?

High end as in like formal to semi-formal? Or just nice restaurants?

Sure do

Revelstoke doesn't need a park! Theres more to a mountain than the park guys. Oh well, more powder for me :)

I completely agree with you on the aspect of "theres more to a mountain than a park". I choose to go to revelstoke every year simply because the terrain is amazing, snow is deep and there are small lift lines. However the park being added is just another addition to one of my favourite mountains. Whether you like it or not there won't be powder every day so those are the days that i will take advantage of the park.
