Rethinking the only trick in the world?

Hi guys! I’m drunk and have been thinking a lot about this. I think it’s time we rethink the whole «lip on blind 2, only trick in the world» thing. Am I right?

I feel like the one rail trick that defines skiing is 2 pretz 2. I mean in which other sports can you pull of a dope as fuck 2p2? Maybe rollerblades, but who cares about that?

2p2 looks way better. It’s slightly harder, but come on… Give it a few days and you got em down. And it feels so much better! I guess a lip on blind 2 feels ok, but it doesn’t really look cool. So who’s with me? Time to make 2p2 the one ski trick to rule them all?

Btw. I talked to Henrik in Annecy, and he’s down!
 
i feel like part of the whole idea is that lip blind 2 isn't very hard and most people can do it. so the 2p2 wouldn't check that box of being a really accessible trick for virtually all rail skiers

i'm not a certified OTitW dealer though so don't quote me on that

Yea for sure, but in that case why wouldn’t a kfed be the only trick in the world? Looks better and is more iconic. I get that it’s accessible, but I feel like 2p2 is a trick than can and will be done both by pros, and beginner/intermediate skiiers. But hey, please link me clips of pros doing lip on blind 2s!

Also sorry for quoting you, had to be done. Not trying to hate on anything, just feel like it’s a serious discussion we as a community need to have. Might be about time that we move on to a sicker trick?

Let’s be honest, you could do anything on that rail and it would be fucking sick! I’m not saying lip on blind 2 is wack. I’m just saying 2p2 is the only trick in the world, and that’s a hill I will die on…

Jamie Amodeo owns that rail and I don’t think anybody will ever one up that clip, there’s not a single trick in my opinion that can compete with how fucked that lb2 is
 
Lip blind 2 flows better than 2p2 and no one can tell me otherwise. Whichever one looks better is a matter of opinion, but the physical motion of a lip blind 2 is more natural

Ok I get that this is subjective, but in what universe is a kfed an inherently better-looking trick than lip blind 2
 
I get lip b2 only trick but I still don't understand all the k fed hate. If I were to rate the swap 2's out best to worst, I'd have blind to blind, k fed, britney, then front to front. Honestly the lower 3 are interchangeable but ray charles reigns supreme of swap 2's out.

lip b2 is in it's own category that lies above all 8 obviously

idk kfeds are the easiest swap to 2 out...it's all continuing. a britney is similar but is all blind and landing switch which def makes it more difficult. most cases, NEW skiers end up kfeds first out of all 8 and end up tossing shitty kfeds on every tube. my all 4 swap rating: bs front2, fs front2, bs blind 2, kfed

k fed was the second to last trick I learned from the list and blind to blind took by far the most tries to learn. Britney can be learned with surface swaps on a tube very easily and front to front never makes you spin facing uphill (extremely scary). I also kept doing unnat front to fronts when I was trying to learn unnat k feds cause I wasn't getting the swap all the way causing me to unintentionally feather for a front spin.
 
Ayay lots of good points here, but let’s be fair. We’re all having a dope sesh on a pvc flat tube, what trick would you want to stomp? 2p2, lip on blind 2 or lip on front 2? And just to add to the scenario, which trick would you want on film? I know what I would choose… And Krypto Skiier I guess?

K feds are played. Unless you’re tossing some wicked sauce/flavor on them I don’t really like watching them tbh they’re just almost annoying to see at this point.
 
One thing about rail skiing is that the same trick can look totally different on different rails. I think every rail has it's own best trick and it's impossible to say one trick is better than another because of the way it looks/feels.

For example, I would much rather see a kfed on a dfd than a lip b2. But I'd rather see a lip b2 on a super long rail, so smoooth
