Retallack The Movie

the movie was way shor in my opinion but Tanner fuckin' killed it and i enjoyed a lot of the Harlaut/Casabon tricks, but it would not be worth buying if it weren't for all the bonus features.

It was a sick movie.

If you like seeing people destroying pillow lines and trees, you will love the movie. If you like people spinning off of pillows, and other natural features, and hitting pow kickers, you will love the movie. They also get out onto some big lines, and really send it.

This movie made me REALLY want to go to Retallack.

If you prefer urban/park stuff, then you won't like it.

Not really....

I enjoy watching people ski in a way that I can't, or ski lines that I dream of skiing, but watching guys hit small pillow lines for 20 minutes is not enjoyable. There was like a solid 5 minutes of unoriginal BC jumps and fairly unimpressive tricks, and then 3 minutes of big line skiing.

Some of Tanner's lines were nuts, but that was about all that impressed me.

B&E didn't even really kill it that hard. I was getting excited to see them actually ski, and see if they could do anything outside the park, but it ended up basically just being them doing small jumps and hitting little drops and pillows and doing small tricks and landing the same way they always do and looking like they struggled with it.

There was no sort of theme to it, other than Karl reading some random shit. There was no talking from the skiers, no story, no explanation of anything to hype the viewer, nothing. It was just pretty damn monotone.

Oh and the music sucked.

It seems like the movie was created for make some money. Didn't live up to the hype. Terrible Sound track which they probably didn't pay a cent for. Lines were amazing but even 20 minutes seemed too long. Retallack the Movie was the only ski movie I was stoked for and it let me down big time. Ski movies are going downhill fast. At least snowboarding is still cool.

I should add I'm big fans of Ian and Neil Provo, true love for skiing and film making. Nimbus has always been killing it, they plan out a soundtrack that leaves their movies and edits with flow. Wish ski movies would stop sucking.

i had a listen to the soundtrack earlier no where near as good as believe. might just wait for after dark the trailer for that looks siiiick. hopefully ahmet has another phat section destroyed it

Exactly how much pillow skiing have you done?

I have not done much, but what I do know is that everyone I know who can really ski pillows well is a GREAT skier. They also tell me that it is much harder than it looks. Most people who think they would rip through BC pillow lines don't.

Have you every skied real pillows? Where? If you have been to Retallack you are stoked.

Just because I can't do something or haven't done much of it doesn't mean that I love watching it.

I do love watching pillow lines though. I get this feeling of just need to do it some day, pure jealousy and yet joy that comes from watching people do it.

But after a while, with no break in the pillow lines, and a feeling like the whole movie is an intro to when it actually gets interesting, it's not fun to watch.

GET THE MOVIE. I ENJOY WATCHING 40 MINUTES OF SKIING I CAN THROUGHLY ASSOCIATE MY RIDING STYLE WITH. IF YOU LIVE IN THE WEST, THIS IS THE BEST.
