Restaurant etiquette question +k

So hypothetical situation, you're at a fairly high end restaurant with a few friends and a woman (over 21) catches your eye from her table. What's the proper procedure for buying this woman a drink? Do you ask the waiter of her table or do you ask your own waiter to send the drink over? I ask this question because somehow I epically failed last night and somehow ended up sending drinks to the entire table instead of just 1 and getting a nice fat check. Not like I wanted those 28 bones anyway...

Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated, along with +k

Haha sounds like you got hosed bro. You ask your waiter to get her a drink, that way it goes on your bill and there is no confusion.

yeah, ask your waiter. but you have to be blunt about it and tell him that it's only for that one girl, and tell him to tell her that you sent the booze

you definitely ask your waiter to send one to her. usually when you do this you pick up the entire table, but specify that she is the one to be addressed when he brings them out. if you don't want to pick up the entire table, you should clearly state your intentions. if you're at a fairly nice restaurant I'd suggest sending a bottle of wine instead of picking up individual drinks for the table. it's a little more classy.
