what has happend to the respect skiers once had for eachother. i see newbies post pictures of them progressing and all they get is criticism from fellow skiers (for the most part). what has happend to the encouragement. We should be helping eachother progress the sport. and i have also seen that for the most part the kids that make fun of others can't ski for shit in the first place. so let me say that anyone that is a good skier also has the respect for others. dont put the newbies down encouragement them. just an idea but we should have an adopt a newbie program and show them the ropes.

word! U've hit the nail on the head and its about time someone brought this issue up! We cant let negativity become the COOL response to everything. It's that sort of attitude that causes newbies to give up and destroys the progression of the sport we love!

actually, i think there is a lot of respect for skiers... people just wanna be cool and have a different view point and opinion on people to be accepted... theres so much respect, u just dontsee it... but its comin... once skiers and snowboarders start being in movies together, well know for sure...

I am not that great, and to make matters worse there are little gangs of kick ass 12 year olds at my home mtn. so I get really intimidated, cuz here I am some 18 year old who can do 3's and thats it. But I have to say that the people who are the meanest are probably the best. I think it is a rule that just before you go pro you have to become the bitchiest person alive.

it wasnt this bad awhile ago. the shittalking always peaks at this time. everybody is snowhungry and wants to ski. once the snow flies, we will all ski and remember what our sport is about. but, untill then, this shit will go on. not to mention, there are more 13 year olds joining this site daily, who have nothing positive to say. id like to see them spin a clean 5, 3 even, and the make fun of all these people trying to do new stuff

Its easy to stay with what you know. It takes guts to go try a new trick in front of about 50 twelve year olds that have been trowing the same tired trick off of every jump. I'm pretty sure I'll eat shit and spend the next 20 minutes cleaning up my yardsale, but at least I'll try it. Those little shits can fuck off. I know what I can do. They don't.

 
i think a lot has to do with the new attention our sport has been getting, and the newbies in the park. before jibbing became cool, kids would learn how to ski because it was skiing. and when it was first progressing the people in the park already new how to ski because they new how to ski. today kids are in the park when they are still trying to learn to link turns together. personally i never hit a park for the first 10 years of my skiing life. so i had experience skiing before going into the park, and today kids are going into the park there first season of skiing, i think kids needs to learn how to ski before they try to jump

well i dont think its only a skiing problem. look at the 10year olds on the street. acting all cool, smoking, having no respect for others and their belongings. i think they should just get beaten up until they show some respect.

 
yeah thats whats wrong with today. schools have taken away the right of putting freshman in their place, everyone complains about abuse. but truley having seniors put freshman in their place laid ground rules for respect, now that seniors are not allowd to do that freshman run free and now we have a bigger problem of immature kids. Bullies gave kids respect for older and bigger people

When I was that age, a good fight would do me good. I'd go home and my parents would ask if I'd be dumb enough to do whatever it was that got me in trouble in the first place again. Usually it was no. Now, if one of these little shits got beat up, they would go tell their parents and you'd have a fucking lawsuit. What a bunch of whiny little bitches.
