Respect the Police.

The cop shooting the dog is fucked up. So is the detroit cop. But detroit has been extremely corrupt in the past 4 or 5 years. They had corrupt police chiefs, corrupt police, corrupt city officials and a corrupt mayor.
 
i have a friend who dd become a cop in CA he said the hardest part of training was the phisacul test and i have been in nyc at 2 am and i did't shit myself so........
 
he didnt care. He said straight up he was doing it for the money. Had nothing to do with protecting. He just wanted an easy job that paid well
 
Agree, about the church thing, but Utah isn't dangerous at all! Idk about southern utah but northern is one big dandelions field.
 
I think the reason why people hate cops is because you never deal with them in a good situation. Have any of you had a good dealing with a cop?
 
apparently its pretty easy in CA. was just looking at the requirements and apart from some southern states, they about win out as being easiest. Come to the northeast, and its not an easy road.

and NYC is nothing at 2am. Unless you were hanging out in an area notorious for violent crime.
 
i interned with the local sheriff's department over this past summer, certainly gave me a new respect for them and an understanding of the pressures and stress they are constantly under
 
Its important to remember that a cops job is not to solve crimes and protect people. His job is to create revenue for the local government. That's why any crime that requires work goes unsolved, there is no return for them. But find a guy who is 5 over the limit and that is a quick 150 bucks.

Someone breaks into your house, and all you can tell the police is "They took my TV. It's 27 inches, made by toshiba." and you expect them to find it?

I'll give you a little insight about gang related violence, which in most major cities, makes up a good portion of crime.

week 1-guy from gang A pisses someone from gang B off.

week 2-guy from gang B kills guy from gang A

week 3-gang A retaliates, and kills guy from gang B.

And then this repeats, over and over. They know who's going to be killed, but its damn near impossible to stop it from happening.

And you dont hear about solving any type of crime unless it's high profile, because no news networks care that the guy who was stabbed on 5th street got better, and they found the guy who stabbed him the next day.
 
It is really hard to become an RCMP, i lived in a small town full of drunken natives, and the RCMP guys were all young and said they had no choice but to be in that shit hole. But, to be a city cop isn't that hard, when I lived in edmonton they were offering a $2500 signing bonus to get people to join.

pull that cop baton out of your ass and think you moron. i could go on and on about posting scary situations and odds are no one on this site will ever run into any of them. most police officers are power tripping pricks. if you dont think so then you havent had a run in with the law.
 
no, see, my father is a police officer, so i actually know officers beyond them writing me a ticket. And i have enough knowledge to realize that there are some assholes, its definitely true, but there are also a hell of a lot of genuinely good police officers who do their jobs as they see fit. The biggest problem in the forces is actually incompetence, officers who have no idea what they are doing and stumble their way through. Generally they are as disliked by the other officers as they are by the people they are supposedly helping. These guys tend to be the assholes. But they exist in every single job. Only people don't complain about it on others because its not as big a deal. You say "man, that waiter was an ass." and thats it.

and don't tell me to think, i'm not the one making sweeping generalizations like declaring most cops to be power tripping dicks.
 
of course if your dad is a fucking cop there all going to be nice to you go to a city and do something wrong you'll see.

actually no, he's one of the more respected and awarded officers in the state. Several medal of honors, bunch of governors awards and such. Not for bullshit stuff either like busting teens or speeding, you don't get medals for that, all of them are gang violence related and homicides.

he's not a normal cop in the city. Thats why he's involved in these things. And i never said he shot at gangs. They shot at him.

and by the way, someone has to respond to the homicide calls. its not just the detectives who show up.

I'm not gonna argue with you guys, because its not gonna change anything. And you can say what you want, but back home we got an entire wall devoted to his medals and awards, and i hope someday some of you can interact with a cop like him, and come out of it with a good impression, and realize that ignorantly stating that all cops are bad is stupid.

honestly dude, you sound like someone that has their dad as a cop and is brainwashed into thinking they're great people. I think you're missing what every other kid growing up notices because you didn't have the social life most people did. You prob. didn't go out underage drinking, or smoking nugs with your buddies. You're opinion is skewed from the rest of society simply because your dad is a cop. We have reasons for saying fuck the police and I'm sure your dad has fucked over some innocent kid just like the rest of us more than a handful of times. Cops are there to "serve and protect" not to serve and fuck you. When cops start treating there job as the second phrase is when you have the right to call them pigs.
