Respect the Police.

You have clearly never been the victim of a cop with boner for busting your ass for any little thing he could possibly find/make up, regardless of your conduct. How could you ever make the decision you wanted to base your life on getting people in trouble? Oh yeah, you have nothing else to do with your life. And don't say you want to make the world a better place. Maybe if you are a homicide detective you are, but hassling kids about the BS that occupies most cops time in rural and suburban areas is not making the world a better place. It is only leading to more resentment and a fuck the police/authority/government attitude.

Thats fine if you want to hate the cops, but when your house gets broken into just call your friend up instead of the cops. Mind you, most of the kids on here are 14 years old.
 
I've run into a few really cool cops who let me get away with some things I really shouldn't have gotten away with.
and I've run into some cops who were douchebags over something really minor (I showed up at a party sober the instant the cops came to break it up) and the only reason they didn't get their way and press charges was because they didn't follow protocol. They slammed me to the ground, mugshotted me, questioned me, and impounded and searched my car for no reason even though it didn't have alcohol in it and I blew a 0.00, so there really wasn't probable cause. I literally just pulled into the driveway and got nailed.
Just my most recent story, but seriously in my experience with police, around 50% have been so cool that I feel bad about saying fuck the police. But then I remember the other half...
 
When you call the cops after your house is broken into what will they do?.... Give you a copy of your police report so you can make a claim on your insurance and get reimbursed. Other than that they really won't do shit. Believe me, I have seen it happen.
You want justice for the person who tried stealing from you? Sleep with a 44 mag by your bed.
You want compensation? Get renters/home owners insurance.
Also, take some responsibility for yourself and lock your doors.
 
i was driving at night a few days ago, completely alone, completely sober and no head/tail lights were out.... a cop spotlighted me for like 10 seconds then drove off

i hate cops on power trips... but other than that. dey okay.
 
Well in Canada you cant do that with a gun and everyone has to have house insurance unless you have paid your house off.
Believe me I am the biggest opponent of the RCMP, I believe we should have provincial police like Ontario and Quebec. However they are the ones who keep you safe at night and throughout your day. To deny this asinine.
 
i'm so tired of generalizations about police brutality. you wanna know why some cops abuse their power? BECAUSE THEY'RE HUMANS. that's what humans do. a certain percentage of people are fucking nuts and abuse power, so apply that percentage to cops and bam, it all makes sense. when we take all the brutal issues and put them into a fucking video compilation it looks like all cops are abusive fags.

maybe 5% of cops (very generous amount) rape children and make a news headline, but 95% of them do their job every day and aren't even noticed for it

i agree, most cops are somewhat arrogant and can be assholes, but they're not looking for an excuse to drag you out of the car, call you a minority, and shoot you 15 times in the back of the head, they're just doing their job. they get so much shit from so many people they don't have patience for a dumbass 17 year old who got busted for weed in his car but "swears it wasn't his"
 
i'm not one to blindly support the cops, but the vast majority of them are there to do a thankless job and go back home to there families every night

Some of the time the police are complete dicks... But most of the time they are pretty chill and fine with most of the stuff unless you are actually doing something bad.. Like there was this one cop that was supporting me and my friends hitting urban and thought it was cool...
 
half those videos those peoples deserved to get rocked. Anyone who runs from the police needs to get dropped or they will keep runing. I do not agree with some of that thought, especially hitting women.
 
this except there are checks, officers can't fire their gun without a full on search and trial. they have cameras in cars to protect the officer but also to use in case someone who was pulled over is abused ect.

I agree that their are problems with the system and that we don't have either militarism or anarchy, of course we strike a balance inbetween, i like to lean on the side of liberty, but in the case of the current law system i see much more good going on then bad. That doesn't mean we can't work to improve it obviously.

I am doing an internship right now with a police department and some of the things in this thread make me sick. I don't think any of you have an idea of the magnitude of complete idiots, scumbags, drug addicts, dealers, and people who just are nuts they deal with. Day after day they deal with the same people, so of course after a while they get cynical. I'll personally say that i haven't met a cop yet that is truely corrupt. An asshole? yes. many. but they will still be there when your ass is getting robbed or your house is getting broke into. If you hate them that much, don't call next time you have a problem, next time you get your skis stolen, next time your getting your ass kicked, or the next time someone is going to hurt you or your family. Yes there are corrupt cops, 75%? no. It's simple, don't act like an idiot, don't get caught and you won't have problems.
 
Some cops are total ass holes. yea there are alot of nice cops out there who genuinely care about public safety but many are from messed up backgrounds in which they werent respected and now feel the need to show their dominance over others

word. i was walking to my friends house with my buddy and got stopped by a cop for walking past curfue. theres no curfue in my town and it was like 11 o clock. 5 cop cars, 2 detectives, and 2 drug dogs later im getting thrown into the back of a crown vic after they illegally searched me and found .8 a gram of weed. i talked to my friends dad whose a jersey city cop and he said that was the biggest bullshit hes ever heard. Even my lawyer said that if you bring them to court for illegal search theyll make up a story and lie to the judge.

bottom line: theres some good, down to earth cops who actually care for what they do. but then there are some complete asshole cops who abuse authority and fuck with everybody.
 
its a thin line the police tread. just last weekend, i was caught with underage drinking, and was breathalized in a situation where i shouldnt have been. (im not going into detail) im not particularly mad about it, and they actually didnt charge me with anything.

its tough in a town like mine where there is little to no actual crime. they have appear like theyre doing something, so they bust little harmless house parties, and give some drunk kids shit when theyre walking home. i can see where the police are coming from, but it can be frustrating sometimes.
 
exactly sir, SOME are. For you to pass judgement on a whole group because of a selective population of a group makes you look very stupid and ignorant. I hope you aren't so prejudice about other groups.

You have no right to refer to cops with crude names so long as you would like to have law enforcement.

If you would like to live without law enforement, fuck off and move to the north pole.

 
It is not like the cops know where a murder is going to happen. (Unless it is like Criminal Minds where at the last seconds they show up and shoot the guy in the head right before they are about to kill someone.) Therefore they are driving around looking for people breaking the law. Im sure if while those two cop cars where dealing with you and a more important thing came up (shooting, hostage situation, etc.) they would drop what they were doing with you and head there.

there are good cops and bad cops but a large majority are bad. anyone who sits on the side of a road all day giving people tickets for a job is almost guaranteed to be an asshole.
i wrote a 14 page paper on speeding tickets for school, had to be neutral. i interviewed two cops, a traffic engineer ,and a road engineer, and spent like 20 hours doing research, and even looking at it from a neutral point of view, its extremely obvious that cops give speeding tickets to bring in money. both the engineers agreed that if they were to make the traffic laws they would have NO speed limits on highways and roads where the average speed is above 35. lowering speed limits does not make the faster drivers slow down, but it makes a bigger differential in speed between the people obeying the speed limits and the people speeding. and in areas in europe and in the US when some states didnt have speed limits, switched to having speed limits, the average speed dropped less than 10mph on average, usually lower, and in almost every case the amount of accidents and deaths instantly increased.
montana's accident rate and death rate more than doubled in the year or two after they added speed limits, while the average speed dropped less than 10mph. this is mostly because of the much smaller speed differential, but a huge part is that more people used seat belts, drivers were much more attentive, and driver courtesy was much better.
so yeah fuck traffic cops, i have no respect for them unless they are pulling over the actual dangerous drivers talking on their phones, or hogging the passing lane going 5 under spacing the fuck out.
as far as other cops. i like the 75 percent are bad 25 percent are good "statistic" it really seems like most of them are just looking for any way they can give someone a ticket, and have no ability to use common sense.
 
I dont like the police cause they fuck with my shit. If I wanna smoke weed then Im gonna fucking smoke weed and Im going to hate the authority that enforces the law that doesn't allow me to smoke my dank. Police look for problems in my community, imo there duty should be to help solve problems, not find them. So just as NWA said, fuck da police.

 
People before me have made it perfectly clear that some cops are good and some are bad (quite obvious). But it is the majority of the cops that are dicks and a smaller yet still significant number of them who are are actually crooked and of course there is the select few that are truly good at what they do. Sure you might be breaking the law, and they are enforcing it as a profession. Yet there have been countless times where the police have been far from professional and in fact way over the line.

i have met some very nice, helpful police officers. ones who truly care about keeping people safe and doing a good job and i commend those guys.

but ive also met cops who were straight up assholes just because they were allowed to be.
 
Yeah i come from a pretty small town. The cops fuck everyone around here. All the fines are maximum and they dont usually give warnings on anything. Then some friends i know got caught in a college town 2 hours away. A kid they give a ride down to a concerct sold lsd to an undercover cop. They get pulled over later with molly, lsd, shrooms, and a shit ton of weed. The cops just let them go with a warning. That shit would have never happened in my town.
 
i cannot stress this enough. i (and most of you) come from a small suburban town where serious crime rarely happens, so they have to go after small stuff in order to meet quotas.
 
i know, but it still is annoying because the entire encounter took up a good 45 minutes. 45 minutes for something that they couldn't even have charged us for. thats 45 minutes of completely wasted time, the most they could have done is given me a violation (which is like a traffic ticket).
 
no fuck the police and people who snitch i never go to the police ever. i had one kid who kicked in my car and broke my window i took care of it myself i wasn't a little bitch who runs to the police with every problem.
 
They put the lowest form of scumbags considered "humans" in jail. If somebody assaulted me, I'd go to the police. Not because I am a coward, because anyone who enjoys doing illegal things is a fucking low life.
 
I have gotten screwed over a couple times and when i did need help it never happened or came to late. So dont give me the bullshit "they keep you safe". Maybe in city but not where i live.
