Research Project

So I'm starting my research project for this year, and I got the last pick, so it's over violence in video games. Anyone have any info perhaps on effects of violent media vs. non-violent media. If anyone wants to take a stab and help me that'd be greeaatt.

people need to learn the difference between fantasy and realty. and anyone who uses "i played too many violent video games" is just looking for a crutch to lean on, and to escape taking responsibility for their actions.

don't be too damning

you sit two kids down in front of a computer, one kid plays tetris, the other plays killer ninja robots III the blood lust. Obviously one kid is going to be more likely to display aggressive behavior.

just because the world in which the emotions of rage and violence are created are fantasy doesn't mean that the emotions are any less real. how is the brain suppose to differ between endorphines created by a tuffle with the school-ground bully, and the endorphines created when you get a killing spree in halo

i know what you're saying -- don't blame everything on TV, but i do want to make sure that you're not saying that the media has NO effect on violence

i agree,

that is why, i wont let my young children (not that i have any :) play ultra violent games. as a young child i played games like mario, TMNT, and other mildly violent games, the difference is they were not life like. and my parents made sure i knew, that when you kill someone, they are dead, you cant re spawn and try again.

it really comes down to taking responsibility, whether the parents, for letting them play these games, or the child for not drawing the line between reality and video games.

im sorry if my post came off as unreasonably "damning"
