the movie was based after a book written in the late 70's i think? somethign like that and the guy that wrote it help make the movie and he just recently died last monday. but its a great movie, i didn't see what the all the hype was about the first time i watched it, but it draws u in and i just kept wantin to watch it again and again, its one of those movies that really grow on u.

Yah, I didn't get the full effect until I watched it twice. It was brillant.

a little odd, but i really liked it. i agree with watchign it twice, it helps to get the full effect.

i think its a very good movie. however, its controversial in that it breaks rules that movies are traditionally required to adhere to in order to be considered good films. for instance, other than the mother, the characters are basically one dimensional, they really don't develop at all. that's something for which many people would condemn a film. however, the movie fucking delivers. the climax is very well orchestrated.

HUBERT SELBY JR DIED? NO! The book Requiem is very good and i recommend it to anyone who liked the movie. The book focuses a lot on characters and there are several extra bits in there that give you a better feeling of what the characters are truely like.

The first time i saw requiem it was 2 in the morning and my whole house was pitch black.

ive never felt so alone in my life when i watched that.
 
definatly gotta watch it more than once. anyone seen the directors cut? a couple of my friends have it and they say its so much nuttier than the regular one
 
That short movie was played at the most effective drinking and driving presentation at our school ever. I swear some kids were almost throwing up at some of the images this dude showed us. At once time he got a kid to hold up a bodybag and then after he told a story about a kid that died from drinking and driving that was really gruesome. Then he told the kid holding the bodybag that that was the bag that the kid in the story ended up in. He was fucking horrified
 
i saw it but didnt think too much of it..i guess i didnt get the full effect. maybe ill watch it again sometime
 
i think i comment on another requiem thread quite extensivly, but i still stand by what i said...this movie actually did change my life.
 
i loved it, but mostly just because jennifer connelly is fucking beautiful and i want to fuck her really badly
 
where did you download it because i have been trying to find it an have been unsuccessful for a while now
 
I'm a film student in college, and most of the kids in my dept rave about this movie, but when I ask them why it's so good, they can't tell me. I think it's OK. The story was, meh. Didn't care. Drug addicts are worthelss and I hope they just all kill eachother, so that part didn't appeal to me. The editing and everything isn't really my thing either, but I will say that it's very unconventional, and imaginitive. A lot of traditional rules were broken, and really appreciate that. It was fresh and new, and very unique. For that I say it's a good film, but it's not a movie I want to watch all the time.
