Republican plan for success: Die of COVID

Funny how the republican run states who keep on downplaying COVID and cry about their freedumbs because they have to wear a cloth are all now experiencing worse surges than at any point during the pandemic. Here's a funny quote from one of the Repubootlickers.

Arkansas Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson said Tuesday he regrets approving a statewide ban on face mask mandates earlier this year and has called the state Legislature into a special session in an effort to amend the law.

"In hindsight, I wish that had not become law," Hutchinson said during a news conference

HURRDUURR LET'S BAN THE ONE THING THAT HELPS PREVENT TRANSMISSIONS! DUUUURRRRRRRR

While they cry about how the last election was stolen and not legit, they reach out with their grubby hands asking papa Joe Biden for gooberment assistance.

Mississippi, Florida and Louisiana are among those reporting staffing and hospital capacity concerns as the number of COVID-19 patients rise, according to an internal U.S. Department of Health and Human Services planning document obtained Wednesday.

HURRRR I KNOW WE TRIED TO OVERTURN THE LAST ELECTION DESTROYING DEMOCRACY AND WE IGNORE ALL ADVICE TO SPITE LIBZ, BUT CAN WE HAZ FEDERAL HANDOUTS PLEASE!?

Once again, Republicans showing how fucking stupid and childish they are and now the adults in the room have to bail them out from their own jackassery once again. To become a Republican, is it a requirement to be wrong on every fucking issue while screaming about how much you love Jesus? I think so.

Holy shit I never expected skierman to be a demmy. I’m just a libertarian who never gave a fuck and I don’t really wanna wear a mask

Imaging being so dumb that you actually write a massive paragraph on the internet expecting people to actually change their minds. When you life flashes before your eyes you will regret the insane amount of mind numbing hours you have spent on this website.

It's so frustrating to see this country STILL arguing about covid, vaccines, masks, and anything else covid related. This isn't political. It's factual data. Grow the fuck up. I'm tired of high volumes, staff shortages, and burnout only because fuckers think they know better than doctors. There's a massive nursing shortage for whatever reason and my ED is also dealing with a physician shortage too. This winter is gonna be fucking terrible if we don't wake the fuck up now. We might not have a bunch of deaths again but you can surely bet hospitals are gonna be fucked. We have winter volumes right now in my hospital...in Ohio...so I can't even imagine what the south looks like. I read the other day 15% of covid cases are kids and it's significantly increasing each day. Can't wait for all the MIS-C cases in about a month or so who are actively trying to die. Yay.

Additionally any healthcare "professional" who propogates misinformation is irresponsible and it's absurd. I've seen too much of that on social media too and it's nauseating.

So when you end up boarded in the emergency department for days because the hospital doesn't have any beds, remember this could have been prevented. Being boarded means you are essentially admitted but have to stay in the ED until a bed opens; your care will be suboptimal compared to if you were on an inpatient unit.

I feel like its consistently nurses who see an article on facebook or some shit and decide to trust that over the doctors and surgeons they work with. It spreads to their friends who will trust their nurse medical professional friend. I agree it is irresponsible and just lazy to not check their sources. It is not hard to get this.

Somewhere along the line we started to give credence and equal platforms to anyone with an opinion about anything. Chances are you believe that the left or right is to blame for that depending or how you align, that doesn't really matter. A medical professional specializing in infectious and respiratory diseases should have the central and dominant voice and opinion in this because they are an expert who have spent their life learning about this topic.

Listening and trusting experts went by the wayside because everyone is so fucking determined not to be a sheep. Its some hipster contrarian bullshit that's rooted in selfishness and ego. We're at 4.5 million people dead worldwide with 600k plus in the US and people are content to ignore experts charting the best path forward to let the virus do as it pleases because its their freedom of choice to refuse being "muzzled" or a free vaccine

Look, basically I'm just not going to get the vaccine. I know.... UGH I know..... I'm sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's just that I'm not getting it is all HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Republicans are dying to own the libs lol. The fact that people are wearing masks around most of their Republican friends is hilarious. Republicans = diseased

You're not wrong. Nursing vaccination rate was ~50% in June compared to 96% for physicians. But that's about to change with literally every hospital starting to require the vaccine by a specific date in the near future.

I don't get why people are mad at the dumbass people who don't get vaccinated and put their lives in danger. Like... let them die. The earth is overpopulated anyway.

what would make it cost that much?

It will have absolutely nothing to do with printing money. Printing money causes deflation, according to my am professor paul krugman.

What does that have to do with $35 burgers?

I was joking about the deflation. The 35 $ future cost of a burger in 2030 will be due to inflation which is due to printing too much money.

Yeah imagine if we fairly taxed the wealthiest people on the planet and the most successful corporations in human history, then we wouldn't need to print ungodly amounts of new money thus preventing inflation and brining tens of millions out of poverty.

Oh wait, that's socialism! Ugh, I guess we better just keep printing money of which 95% will go to the top 1% of earners who are completely unaffected by inflation.

Printing money affects the 1% more than anyone else, mathematically. That's the entire point of printing money. It deflates the value of their wealth and enables the government to redistribute it elsewhere. It's the same reason the government doesn't really care about national debt, since they have the power to print money and effectively indirectly tax everyone by deflating their assets. That, again, would affect large corporations and the 1% far more than anyone else mathematically.

The wealth imbalance in the world is a big problem, but the easiest lever Congress has to harness it is at the Federal Reserve. It's a band aid though, and rising prices will hurt poor people later as you pointed out. Their incomes typically grow at a slower rate than inflation.

Why the minimum wage hasn't at least been tied to inflation to keep the same purchasing power for workers is beyond me. Every year wages don't grow is effectively a pay cut and the fact that it hasn't increased in over ten years has grown the population of people in poverty. This happens in the face of very real productivity gains, planned obsolescence of products, and banks and industries with shit and risky business practices getting bailed out by the government. The result is wealth inequality greater than what it was during the French Revolution.

Somehow its radical to want to correct this by funding the IRS more, closing loopholes, and taxing generational wealth/ the 1% more. That would just be insane. Almost as insane as taking a free vaccine so you and people around you have less of a chance of dying in the middle of a pandemic that has killed over 4.5 million people worldwide

Or we could just abolish the federal reserve and make the government balance the budget instead of printing money that doesn't exisit.

at least the terrorists are respectful towards biden's mask mandates.

I am not saying this to be disparaging- but in an increasingly crowded, diverse, and ultimately collectivist society the freedom to make shitty decisions is increasingly appealing for those people that feel economically trapped and paralyzed by that change.

if you want to wear a mask, wear one. if not? don't. The ban on mask mandates in no way says you're not allowed to wear a mask. I really don't see what's so controversial about it. If you're really that scared of the virus then just don't go into high risk areas. If someone choses to not get vaccinated and refuses to put a mask on then that person has clearly made the conscious decision to take that risk. There's nothing we can do to change that persons mind and we have to start coming to terms with that. Not every republican is a Jesus loving anti-vaxxer. the crazy ones just happen to be getting ALL the press recently.

I see this argument a ton, and it’s kind of glossing over the entire point of wearing a mask and what is effective about it. The point of wearing a mask is that the WEARER can’t spew their virus carrying saliva droplets in crowded spaces as easily. It’s more like a spark arrester on a motorcycle than a shield against Covid. That is why people care in any way what other people are doing, because it affects them directly. It’s the same thing with the vaccine- we learned last year that contagious people test negative for several days after original getting infected. So why should a person have the right to walk around spitting on everyone during a pandemic when the solution to this problem is widely available for free? Like newsflash no one cares if an anti-masker/antivaxxer Trump supporter gets sick and dies of Covid- they care about the people that person is able to bring down with them through their selfish and ignorant behavior.

Absolutely comical and infuriating that we are STILL arguing about mask effectiveness. The southern states are being absolutely moronic at the expense of their citizens, especially kids. Every bit of misinformation or arguments against masks can easily be countered with scientific evidence but people choose not to believe?! Like what the fuck. That's like your science teacher saying we revolve around the sun and you be like "nahhhhh ur wrong". Masks work. Fact. They're simple and safe to wear. Why governments across the country are debating this is mind numbing, especially as their constituents are being annihilated by covid. The same can be said about vaccines. I wholeheartedly blame trump for creating and still propagating this trend of not believing evidence based medicine and making this political. It shouldn't be. This never should have been a debate. If you told me 5 years ago we would be arguing about wearing masks or getting vaccines to save lives, I'd say you're nuts. This should be a pandemic run by those who are educated to treat and prevent it, not those with a fucking law or business degree sitting in Capitol Hill or whatever respective state/local legislative branch they're in. The legislative branch (of national, state, and local govs) should be used for support, not to combat attempts to stem the virus.

Now you can try to argue but the facts do not support alternative arguments. If you continue to argue, then congrats you have marked yourself as a moron.

I have become thoroughly disgusted by the fact that in American culture it is taken as gospel that everyone has the right to act on their own opinion no matter how fucking obnoxious and harmful to other people it is, and that if you criticize someone for it you're somehow the bad guy.

Please provide articles in arguments. There’s plenty of studies saying masks do little to nothing If worn if worn innefectively Which is essentially 75-80% of people.

more Then half the population wear cloth masks that are not at all effective.
