What would you think of giving each reply to a topic a number. The first reply is 1, the second is 2, etc. It would be very easy to implement and making replying to a certain person/post less confusing.

But isn't it basically the same thing now, just there are no numbers. Going from top to bottem arn't the replies in chronological (sp) order.

I got it now i thought you just meant it would just be like response 6, i didn't understand that it would also say which one you were responding too.

Thats a good idea and heres something similar that I've seen in effect in other forums. What you do is you have a reply button on each post. then, if you wanna reply to the thread you can eithr click 'post reply' or whatever or click on the reply button next to the specific post you are responding to. Then at the starting of your post itll have quoted the post you were replying to. It works well if done right. The trick is to make it so it doesnt buff everything up and make it annoying.

I have liked the idea of a quote function and mentioned it a while back.

One problem with the number thing is it encourages idiots to try asnd grab special numbers.

What we need, is a qoute box. It do the same as copy and paste. It would save the user name and his or her post and put it on your reply. So then, you don't have to scroll up and re read the post you are repling too. They have this in other forums i have been too and it is awesome.

Thats just my opinion
