Repeatedly injuring yourself

Did this about 3 weeks ago getting a little lazy coming onto a rail:

Fell on it again last week pretty hard and it swelled right back up like that. Could have swore I broke it the second time.

Other than that my hips take a beating. Seems like every weekend I ride I take a pretty good hip slam.
 
Any suggestions if the impact shorts just aren't enough? I wear Crash Pads and still moderate to heavy bruising and fluid-filled sacs on my upper thighs/hips region.
