Repeatedly injuring yourself

did a deck drop but i managed to double eject/fall 10 feet to ice bank on my shoulder, then fell again at keystone. blows and cant lift my arm haha. repeated injuries stories please

concussions i break a helmet a year and still get head injuries. but it seems that a lot of people have that problem.

boom... this is me exactly. You should get some impact shorts if you haven't already. Best thing i ever bought. Takes out a lot of the sting and heavy bruising from landing on ice, metal, or a gaper.

As far as shinbang... well, let's not open that can of worms.

well every season theres something. From skiing park: I've chipped my teeth, tore acl/mcl/lcl, broken collar bone, dislocated shoulder, separated shoulder, something happened to my neck (never checked it out), bruiced tailbone, bruised both hips pretty bad. Damn rails. I still love them though.

shin bang, bruised hips, sublaxting left shoulder, wrists. i get atleast one of these per weekend im up skiing

I get a lot of one-off injuries but the one I am kind of concerned about is myositis ossificans why is basically a build-up of calcium deposits in your thighs which begins turning to bone. It's caused by repeat trauma to a bruised area without letting it heal properly and since the sides of my thighs are always bruised from rails I keep injuring them over and over.

Ugh ... gotta learn to slide unnatural to spread out some of the pain.

Havent happened yet this season, but for the last 2 my left knee, both meniscuses (?) has had their turn. really sucks!

While they do help a lot with falls onto your hips i find they're restricting. Its always hard for me to grab in them because I cant pull my leg up as far.

Holy shit people really get messed up.

I am weird for never breaking, tearing, spraining, fracturing, etc or anything? I've had bruises and stuff but that's it. I feel like I go pretty hard, have just been real lucky I guess?

I've broken my neck twice, once skiing & the other mtb.

It kinda blows, I started taking it easy after the second time, progression isn't worth the possibility of never being able to ski or ride again.

no poles ftw

my hips don't like me very much but rollerblading has caused way more injuries of greater severity. yet to break anything doing either though

I used to dislocate my shoulder almost weekly, adding up to well over two hundred dislocations before my second surgery that I had in December. No Bueno

this winter i broke my thumb in hockey, sprained the same thumb a week later playing with it taped up, and then broke it and sprained it again later in the season

also separated my shoulder in hockey, re-separated it twice hitting urban although neither re-separations were as serious as the initial one

fell on urban and bruised up my whole thigh/ass, kept re-bruising it

cracked ribs on urban too

so for me i've just been a recurring injured skier all year hahahaha

shin bang, skiers thumb, rail bang (hit my shin just above my boot) scraped lip and other years i have bitten my lips... enought to make them huge lol but nothing extremely bad for now thankfully and good luck recovering everyone else!

did my arm last december, collar bone last july, and just redid the same collar bone 2 weeks ago, shits busted.

totally fucked up both my thumbs, and about a month ago i overshot a jump trying a frontfilp and i was coughing up blood for a couple days, and did something to my back and hip

I jamed my thumbs twice a week and after each time my finger nails at the ends turned black within a few seconds. Not all of them were skiing though.

Bruised hips are what I use to get quite a bit, what I do now though is wear soccer goalie pants which have thick padding around the hips, they've helped tremendously and when I land on my sides I don't bruise my hips anymore :).

Did a couple 5s on the medium jumps at Mt. Bachelor on my pipe cleaners. The next day, I come back and it's a pow day and I have my caylors, which are 191 and mounted with 916s so they're heavy as fuck. After a summit run, we found ourselves taking a quick run through the park. I tried a 5, but threw it a lot harder than I had on my PCs and overrotated. Landed exactly 630, slammed my whole left side into the landing at full force. Broke a rib, but I'm almost recovered, so I can't complain.

sounds like you got some kind of infection.. clean that maybe?

and i'm pretty sure I got a concussion at Keystone earlier this year off the spine, headache afterwards.. also alot of others were saying they got concussions... this is why always WEAR A HELMET everyone should
