Renting a set of park skiing gear (Park City etc.)

Hey guys,

I'll probably go to Park City at the end of Feb, but this time I won't be able to bring my skis and boots. Hereby the thing is to get a rental park skis and boots, but it seems to be surprisingly difficult to get a pair of solid center mounted park skis. It's pretty much same thing with all rentals places in every resort, they offer park skis, but they all go with plastic bindings with 10 max din setting and I also believe they say that you aren't allowed to hit rails with them.

So any thoughts, can you just rent a pair of park skis with their plastic bindings for real park (and rail) shredding, hope the best and bring them back like nothing? Do they check the edges afterwards? How the things go if you crack a binding of a rental ski in park skiing? Park skis are made for park shredding for sure, but I guess they might say that park skiing is not allowed with their rental gear as the rental bindings are usually plastic ones.

Or does anyone know if there's any place to rent a real set of park skis and boots is Park City area? Or do I really need to get a pair of big mountain skis and hit the park with them and skip the rail sections?

Thanks!

Ship your skis and boots to your hotel in park city. Itll cost you 50 dollars each way so $100 in total. You will spend that on rental gear. Just some advice

kamron_708, That would be best option, but I can't do it as I come there from South America and my skis and boots are back in Europe. Hereby I need to write off this option.

@LANTASKI, thanks, will check what they've got.

So far this looks very complex, renting boots and buying park skis seems one of the best options now. In Park City, are there any stores to buy solid second hand park skis? If no, which is the cheapest store to look for bargain deals? And if I buy a pair of skis, is there any store, which would buy it back afterwards?

Carry your boots with you in the cabin on the plane. Always.

omIV$, Same thing again, I appreciate your help, but I don't have boots with me and thus can't bring em at all. Renting boots isn't that big issue, because one can basically hit park with almost any kind of boots, but renting park skis seems to be more complicated thing. Carrying boots as a cabin bag is the thing to do though, but this time it's written off.

So no-one hasn't rented park skis to hit rails nor doesn't have any view to this renting thing?

GrumpisPringle, That would make sense. I've hit park with pow skis and it actually works until skis are too fat. +1 for this, but with pow skis one can't just probably hit rails, which sucks a lot though.

If I wanna buy park skis in PC, what's the store to go?

Bazookas at the resort. Its expensive though. Second tracks in SLC is your best bet
