may be moving to Reno at the end of the year. What does everyone think of Reno? Do you live there? Is it lame?

How far is it to Resorts in Tahoe?

 
it's sweet especially if your 21. it's also within an hour of tons of legit resorts. There's also lots of casino's where you make make bad decisions on a daily basis.
 
Reno is alright. Mainly because its close to tahoe...

but its got some sketchy things about it I'm not a fan of...

Also do you know what part of town you'll be living in, because that actaully makes a huge difference.If you ahve a choice try to live around the university or in NW reno. Relatively cheap, close to fun, and close to I-80 to get to skiing!
 
Yes, but not all places have the sketchy characters that Reno brings to the party lol.

Gambling brings a bad element.

Also not a fan of the rampant suburban growth.. in which you just see ranch style family homes for miles and miles and miles...

That said, at least the taxes are less and its super close to tahoe, and there are plenty of cool places to go. Cant complain too much.

And I agree.. stay on the north side of I-80. A lot more going on.
 
Reno is very underrated. its the scummyest town on the west...if you can count it as the west. But Tahoe Skiing is defenitly the best thing there is.apart from Colorado..and utah. oh man in retrospect we kindof suck.
 
What the fuck are you talking about!?  Reno is one of the most origional western towns, only certain parts are shaddy but all cities have that, hell even gardnerville does. I forgot your from Boston, what do you know?
 
ahh i love p.f. chang's....but ya reno is actually a pretty good city to live in cuz u have all the seasons here like u don't just have a winter or just a summer u have everything, u have the mountains too, ur only like 3 hrs away form mammoth, always something to do, aboiut half an hour from tahoe..idk it's a pretty good city but you do get some pretty ronchy people that come to live in reno just for like the gambling and casinos but some casinos are pretty cool...but ya it's a pretty sick city for the most part...( oh theres lots of sick urbans that ull just like randomly find)
 
reno is too underrated

born and raised there and loved it more every day. there are some sketchy people that you see downtown and tourists that come for the casinos are fucking annoying, but its easy to avoid that. The neighborhoods crammed with track homes are kinda ruining the style of reno but oh well, thats mostly south reno and mcqueen area.

Between reno and tahoe you can see pretty much any concert you've been wanting to see, tahoe is a little pricier though. Some great longboarding hills, good lakes for wakeboarding/camping. northstar is like 30 minutes, alpine and squaw around 45 minutes, heavenly around 1:00 to 1:30

Lakes are amazing in summer, skiing is amazing in winter. what more do you need?
 
word i got that, As long as Reno isnt worse then Milwaukee, WI i think ill be fine, Tahoe 30 mins away is a major perk
 
and its all perspective. someone that may seem "sketchy" to someone may be just a normal person to someone else. its the toothless meth heads you gotta watch out for
 
reno has good skating/ ass n titties/mexican food/ i dont no why you all keep sayin "sketchy: theres skecth balls everywhere. i think theres more sketch balls in tahoe ne way. the drive is mellow. to the mountains. get a rose pass and a b real pass. and sugar bowl if you got some xtra scrilla.. na meen, b

HA! ya, have any of you guys been to LA, and not been in the good section of town?! cuz if you have it makes the bad section of reno look like day care. Or maybe gotten of the offramp to go to Alameda and took a wrong turn endin up in shitfuck Oakland. Reno may be a bit sketch depending on where you live but ive stumbled into way worse makin reno feel safe.
 
I'm no major Reno fan, but I will say the bad definitely stands out more than the good. It's just so much smaller than most other cities and the nicer sections just haven't come about yet. Reno is definitely improving though. Becca, that's absolutely fucking nuts! You should definitely consider carrying a weapon. If Lindsay wasn't totally against it, we'd be doing the same. But Rose and B-real are just 40 minutes away. Places like Squaw and Alpine are less than an hour. Tough decision...
 
haha, kc you drove through the tunnel huh?  and that's west oakland, which is pretty alright.  spending a couple days in east oakland or epa will make you feel safe anyplace.

I was waiting to pick up a friend from the airport in oakland, but I didnt want to park or wait at the terminals so i drove around. I know its a bad part of town, but i had never been around there, so I drove over the overpass to see what i could find, and ran into the sketchiest of sketchy i've ever seen in my life.

Luckily my car is a cheepo volvo wagon, so i wasnt attacked ha.

Oh, and Inglewood/compton and all that shit in LA is SKETCHHH as well.

Nothings as bad as southside Chicago in my opinion though. whooa.

well were in reno are you moving, if you stay around downtown/around ungnar or south reno its nice, just dont go to sun valley beause its probaly one of the biggest shit hole towns in reno/ sparks is kinda lame too theyve got some dank meth tho.... lol, Dont fuck around with reno police neither because some of them are just complete dueche bags but others are actualy really cool. where i live, im 20 minuets from mtrose but im just outside city limits. Reno actualy has really good weed too, lots of cool people, good looking women and alot of wacked out people, but most of them are nice wackos so its works out. We dont have as much stuck up yuppy faggots as incline/tahoe does so its kind of nice living here, just nothing ever to do but skate, longboard, drink beer, smoke weed, jump off of rocks into water, tahoe, and skiing. It could be way worse tho
 
i guess it all started with the opposing sides bumping into eachother while dancing or some shit and than it just escalated from there. i found out that the fags who shot them were some kids that shot some rounds off at a brawl that i was in and also that they had shot off rounds at parties before that so i hope they get everything they have coming to them and than some. fuckin ridiculous how someone can just do that! I hope they get raped to shit by bubba every night in prison!
